CipherEnigma: Decode, Discover, and Design! (Technical Event - Yukta 2025)

CipherEnigma is a competition that challenges participants with cryptographic puzzles, technical problem-solving, and creative meme-making. Participants must first crack codes, decrypt messages, and solve tech puzzles before unlocking their path to the final meme showdown.

Competition Format:

Round 1: Tech Quiz – Unlock the Path

Challenge: A fast-paced technical quiz testing knowledge in:

• Computing history
• Cryptographic principles
• Programming logic
• Cybersecurity fundamentals

Platform: Kahoot or Quizr
Time Limit: 40 minutes
Elimination Criteria:

• The top 15 teams with the highest scores will advance to the next round.
• In case of a tie, the team that completed the quiz fastest will be given preference.

Shortlisted Teams: 15

Round 2: Morse Code Mystery – Decode the Hidden Signal

Challenge: Participants will receive an audio file containing a hidden Morse code message buried in noise.

• Using Audacity or a Spectrogram tool, they must analyze the waveform, extract the Morse code pattern, and translate it into a meaningful word or phrase.

Platform: Audacity & Spectrogram Tool
Eligibility Criteria:

• The top 10 teams will qualify for the next round.
• Selection is based on accuracy.
• In case of a tie, the fastest team advances.

Shortlisted Teams: 10

Round 3: The Final Lock – Decrypt & Design

Stage 1: Caesar Cipher Challenge – The Final Lock

Challenge: Participants will be given a scrambled message encrypted using the Caesar Cipher.

• They must determine the shift value and reverse the encryption to reveal the plaintext.
• Some ciphers may include hints, while others will require pattern analysis to crack the code.

Laptops are allowed for this round.

Stage 2: Tech Meme Battle – Creativity Meets Code

Challenge:

• The decoded message from Stage 1 will become the theme for a meme creation challenge.
• Participants must craft a technically relevant and engaging meme based on their decrypted phrase.
• Time Limit: 45-50 minutes
• Memes must be uploaded to a designated Google Drive folder.

Judging Criteria:

• Clarity
• Technical relevance
• Creativity and humor
