Code Mafia: Stages and Timelines

Code Mafia

A 3-hour DSA showdown where coding meets chaos—solve coding problems, earn power-ups, and sabotage rival teams in an Among Us–style battle for the leaderboard.

All that you need to know about Code Mafia

Rules:

  • This competition is completely online and will be conducted on ACM CEG's website.
  • Each team can contain a minimum of one participant and a maximum of two participants.
  • In case a team has two members, both members must be present in the same location and work on the same system, as a single login is allocated per team.
  • Under no circumstances may participants cheat whilst solving the questions through the usage of any website or generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, etc. If detected, this will result in immediate disqualification.

Eligibility:

  • To be eligible for participation, participants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from any college.

Guidelines:

  • Registration fees are per team, not per team member
  • Team members need not be from the same college.

Event Flow:

  • The event consists of a single 3-hour round consisting of solving DSA programming questions through an online web-based interface. Participants may type the solution in a variety of languages of their choice, and must match the answer to the test cases to proceed to the next question.
  • Over time, as the event progresses, your team will be awarded in-game currency automatically based on your position in the leaderboard. This currency can be spent on purchasing sabotages (to negatively impact your opponents) or shields (to protect yourself from enemies' attacks).
  • Purchased sabotages can be used to hinder another team, such as by temporarily darkening or rotating their screen. A detailed list can be found in the uploaded documents.
  • Alternatively, you can purchase a shield, which will temporarily protect you against incoming sabotages from other teams for a certain period.
  • By solving questions, your team earns points. The winner is crowned based on the most points earned at the end of the event.
  • To win, a team must solve the questions while simultaneously strategising by defending themselves and sabotaging other teams.

Note:

  • This competition and event are being independently conducted through our official website: auceg.acm.org, and have been conceptualized and executed from scratch by our dedicated team. We take immense pride in curating this experience in-house, ensuring authenticity, creativity, and value for all participants.
