ColoHacks: Stages and Timelines
Round 1: PPT submission & 2-min video presentation
- Round 1 is an online screening round conducted via Unstop.
- Software Track: Deadline for this track is over.
- Hardware Track: Submit a PPT + 2-minute video based on a selected domain.
Round 2: 24-Hour On-Campus Hackathon
Shortlisted teams will be invited to participate in the final 24-hour on-campus hackathon.
- Teams must develop a working prototype based on their submitted idea.
- The selected problem statement/domain will remain locked.
- Final evaluation will be based on implementation, technical execution, innovation, presentation, and overall impact.
Final Round
- The Top 10 teams, each from the Software and Hardware tracks, will be selected.
- These teams will present their complete project and working prototype to the judging panel.
- Evaluation will be based on innovation, technical implementation, impact, and overall presentation.

ColoHacks 2026 Powered by Unstop - 24 Hour Hackathon in Collaboration with IEEE-DBIT

About the Hackathon:
ColoHacks 2026 is a 24-hour overnight on-campus innovation challenge organized by Don Bosco Institute of Technology as part of its annual technical fest, Colosseum 2026.
The hackathon features two main tracks: Software and Hardware. It follows a structured, domain-based problem model aligned with the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Teams will design and develop fully functional prototypes that address real-world challenges within a competitive and time-bound environment.
Domains for the Software Track:
Participants must choose one of the following domains during the hackathon:
- AI / ML
- Web Development
- App Development
Detailed problem statements (minimum two per domain) will be released prior to the hackathon for the shortlisted teams (Round 2).

- Robotics & Automation
- Sustainable & Green Technology
- Smart Cities & Urban Infrastructure
- Disaster Management & Crisis Mitigation

Team Structure & Eligibility:
- Team Size: 2-4 members
- Inter-college teams: Allowed
- Inter-branch / Inter-specialization teams: Allowed
- All members must be currently enrolled students
Deadline for Submission:
Software Track: 21 March, 12:00 PM IST (noon)
Hardware Track: 24 March, 11:59 PM IST
Registration & Shortlisting Process
- Teams must register through Unstop.
After registration:
- Software Track: Teams must submit a PPT + 2-minute explanatory video based on the given problem statement (check the Download Attachment section).
- Hardware Track: Teams must select a domain out of the 5 domains provided for the hardware track and submit a PPT + 2-minute explanatory video explaining their proposed idea.
Only shortlisted teams will qualify for the final round.
After shortlisting, problem statements will be provided for the Software Track domains before the 24-hour hackathon begins. For the Hardware Track, the shortlisted teams will have to build their prototype based on their proposed solution submitted in Round 1.
Participation Fees (After Shortlisting)
- Software Track: ₹400 per team
- Hardware Track: ₹400 per team
Selected teams will then proceed to the final hackathon round.
Note: The fee is required to be paid only by the shortlisted teams, while teams participating in Round 1 will be able to attempt the round without paying any fee.
