Cryptic Hunt: Stages and Timelines

Offline Round

You will added to the Whatsapp group, where all the details will be sent for the event inside campus.

All that you need to know about Cryptic Hunt

Guidelines:

  • Decode the Codes in C
    • Each station will challenge your wit with puzzles based on C programming.
    • Think logic, syntax, and semantics.
    • Be prepared—your understanding of loops, arrays, strings, and conditional logic will be tested!
  • Decode the Clues
    • Hidden across the campus are riddles, puzzles, and cryptic messages.
    • Each clue unlocks the next location.
    • Look closely—answers may be right in front of you or hidden in plain sight.
  • Make a Tour of the Campus
    • This isn't just a game—it's a journey.
    • Follow the trail as it weaves through academic blocks, open lawns, hidden corridors, and surprise locations.
    • Discover your campus in a whole new light.
  • Get DJ Night for Free!
    • Crack all the clues and complete the hunt successfully within the time limit to earn your Golden Pass—free entry to the ultimate DJ Night Bash happening the same evening!
  • You Have 3 Hours
    • You will be racing against time.
    • With only 180 minutes on the clock, every second counts.
    • Strategy and teamwork are key.

Rules:

  • Team Formation:
    • Participants must form a team of either 2 or 4 members.
    • Lone wolves will not be allowed to participate.
    • Collaboration is your strength.
  • Fair Play First:
    • Cheating is strictly prohibited.
    • Any team found copying, sharing answers across teams, or using unauthorized devices/tools will be disqualified instantly.
    • This is a test of skill, not shortcuts.
  • Handle with Care:
    • Do not damage, misplace, or tamper with clues or props.
    • Every clue is a part of someone else’s experience.
    • Be respectful and responsible.
    • Clues must remain in their original locations after being read.
  • Use Brain, Not Brawn:
    • No physical force or vandalism allowed.
    • If a clue seems inaccessible, think harder—it’s about wit, not strength.
  • Complete Each Task Before Moving On:
    • Each checkpoint may include a mini-challenge (puzzle, code, or activity).
    • You must complete these before progressing to the next clue.
  • Proof of Progress:
    • Some locations may require you to click a photo/video or report to a game master to validate your visit before the next clue is unlocked.
  • Finish Line = DJ Night Entry:
    • Only teams who finish within the 3-hour limit and solve all clues will be eligible for free DJ Night entry.

Tips to Win:

  • Carry a charged smartphone with a QR code scanner and basic text/code editor.
  • Stay calm under pressure—cryptic clues are meant to mislead before they reveal.
  • Think out of the box. Some clues might involve history, landmarks, posters, or even club names on campus!
  • Trust your teammates. Split the roles—one decodes, one searches, one navigates, one documents.
  • Let the thrill of the hunt begin.
  • Code. Crack. Conquer.
  • Will you be the team that outsmarts them all?
