All that you need to know about DeFused
Event Overview:
DeFused is an offline coding event hosted as part of Miraz. Participants are challenged to develop innovative solutions under time pressure, with a new code element revealed every 45 minutes. The theme for the event will be announced at the beginning, providing participants with a context for their
solutions.
Event Format:
- Team Formation: Participants can form teams of up to 4 members. Solo participation is also allowed.
- Introduction: At the beginning of the event, the theme for DeFused will be announced.
- Development Phase: Participants will have a total development time of 3 hours, divided into 4 segments of 45 minutes each. At the beginning of each segment, a new code element will be revealed, which participants must incorporate into their solutions.
- Submission: Once the final development phase ends, teams must submit their solutions before the specified deadline. Late submissions may not be accepted.
- Code Elements: Throughout the event, a new code element will be revealed every 45 minutes. These elements can be libraries, frameworks, APIs, or any other programming tools relevant to the theme. Participants must incorporate each new code element into their solutions within the given time frame. The final submission can be in any form, including a website, app, machine learning model, or any other format.
- Theme: The theme for DeFused will be announced at the beginning of the event. It will provide participants with a context within which they must develop their solutions.
Rules:
- Participants must adhere to the given theme and incorporate the new code elements into their solutions within the specified time frames.
- Each team or participant is responsible for their own equipment, including laptops, chargers, and any other necessary hardware.
- Teams must respect the time limits for development and submission. Late submissions may not be considered for evaluation.
- Participants must maintain appropriate conduct throughout the event. Any form of misconduct or violation of event rules may lead to disqualification.
- The submissions shall be made through a Form, and the link for the same will be shared before the event concludes. The submission should be an executable, accompanied by instructions provided in a README file on GitHub or as a text file.
- Decisions made by the judges will be final and binding
Evaluation and Winner Declaration:
- Evaluations will be based on criteria such as creativity, functionality, usability, and adherence to the theme, and incorporation of the new code elements The winners will be announced through the mail.
