Innothon 2025: Tech for Impact | Web Development Challenge

Innothon 2025 is the first-ever Web Development Competition organized by Code Club, Cummins College of Engineering for Women under the theme “Tech for Impact.” This competition is designed to provide a platform for young innovators, developers, and problem-solvers to build meaningful web applications that address real-world societal challenges. The event aims to inspire participants to harness technology to create solutions in four key impact domains:

• Healthcare: Build solutions that improve healthcare accessibility, patient care, health management, mental health support, or public health awareness.

• Education: Design tools that enhance educational accessibility, affordability, digital learning, or equality in education.

• Fintech: Develop applications that simplify financial inclusion, promote secure digital payments, improve financial literacy, or solve challenges in the fintech ecosystem.

• Sustainability: Innovate solutions that promote environmental protection, conservation, waste reduction, or climate action through technology.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Open to all undergraduate students across India.
• Students from any academic background, specialization, or discipline are welcome.
• Inter-college teams are allowed and encouraged.
• Interdisciplinary teams are also allowed.
• Each team must consist of a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 4 members.

Event Format:

• The competition will be conducted entirely online for the development phase.
• Participants can either:
  • Choose a problem from the suggested four domains (Healthcare, Education, Fintech, Sustainability), or
  • Propose their own problem aligned with the broader theme of social impact.
• There is no restriction on the number or type of problem statements—the goal is to encourage innovation, creativity, and relevance to societal needs.

Important Dates:

• Registrations & Ideation Start: 10th July 2025
• Final Submission Deadline: 8th August 2025

Each team must submit:

• A functional web application (either a working product or prototype).
• A link to the code repository (GitHub).
• A demo video (2–5 minutes) explaining the problem, solution, features, and technical aspects.
• A PowerPoint presentation (PPT) in the official event template provided by Code Club:

• Certificates of participation for all registered and submitting teams.

Guidelines:

• Open to individuals or teams of up to four members.
• Cross-college and cross-specialization teams are permitted and encouraged.
• All development work must be completed within the official competition timeline.
• Solutions must address real-world challenges with practical applications.
• Submissions must include all required elements (web app, code, video, PPT) for evaluation.

Rules:

• All submissions must be original work created specifically for Innothon 2025.
• Plagiarism or use of pre-existing solutions without substantial innovation will lead to disqualification.
• Use of open-source tools, libraries, and frameworks is permitted with proper attribution.
• Each team is allowed to submit only one solution.
• All participants must maintain professionalism and respectful conduct throughout the event.
• The decisions made by the judging panel and organizers will be final and binding.
