Machine Learning Challange
The Machine Learning challenge is hosted on DPhi. It requires participants to create predictive models to predict the stage of liver Cirrhosis using 18 clinical features. Register with the same team and join the challenge - https://dphi.tech/challenges/192. The top 10 teams from the challenge (Contest Leaderboard on DPhi) will qualify for the final round.
Solution Approach
The selected teams from round 1 will share their solution approach (in a presentation file) and the code of their Machine Learning model that reflects the final results on the leaderboard. The winners will be decided based on - 1. Algorithm and ML approach, 2. Statistical analysis, 3. Real-world Outcomes.

This Machine Learning Challenge requires participants to create predictive models to predict the stage of liver Cirrhosis using 18 clinical features. Cirrhosis damages the liver for a variety of causes leading to scarring and liver failure.
Hepatitis and chronic alcohol abuse are frequent causes of the disease. Liver damage caused by cirrhosis can't be undone, but further damage can be limited. Treatments focus on the underlying cause. In advanced cases, a liver transplant may be required. Predicting the stage of cirrhosis and beginning the treatment before it's too late can prevent the fatal consequences of the disease.
About Dataset:
- Train Dataset: It consists of a total of 6801 data points
- Test Dataset: You must predict the stage of cirrhosis of 3201 data points.
Evaluation: Submissions are evaluated using the Weighted F1 Score.
How do we do it?
We give participants two sets of data:
- Training Dataset: It contains both independent and dependent variables. Anyone can download it, build a model and make a submission.
- Testing Dataset: It contains only independent variables (the dependent variables are hidden). You submit the prediction values of the dependent variables for this dataset and we compare them against the actual values.
