ML Challenge - Convergence2k25r: Stages and Timelines
Registration Phase
Participants are invited to register for the event during this phase. Teams will submit their basic details and confirm their participation through the registration form. After the registration period ends, the top 50 teams will be shortlisted based on their submitted profiles to move forward to Qualifier Round..
ML Challenge Qualifier Round
On Campus Round 1 – marks the beginning of Convergence 2K25R ML Challenge. In this round, teams will receive a problem statement and dataset to develop predictive models that achieve the highest accuracy. Participants must analyze the data, build efficient ML solutions, and submit their results within the given timeframe. Top-performing teams from Round 1 will advance to the On-Campus ML Challenge. Atleast one person from the team must hold a Convergence 2K25R pass to be eligible for further rounds.
ML Challenge Final Round
Final Round – is the final stage of the Convergence 2K25R ML Challenge, where the top teams from Round 1 will compete head-to-head. In this round, teams will continue working on the same problem statement and dataset from Round 1, refining and enhancing their existing models to achieve better performance. Participants will focus on optimization, fine-tuning, and applying advanced techniques to improve their results and overall model efficiency. Final submissions will be evaluated based on performance metrics and approach.

- This event brings together students and aspiring ML professionals to apply their skills to meaningful problems, explore new techniques, and develop robust predictive solutions.

Event Dates:
- 3rd & 4th November 2025
About the Challenge:
- The challenge invites participants to demonstrate their expertise by tackling a defined problem statement using a provided dataset.
- Competitors will analyze data, build predictive models, and optimize their solutions to achieve the highest performance on the evaluation metrics.
- Submissions will be judged based on accuracy, methodology, explainability, and overall innovation in approach.
Participation Details:
- Team Size: 1–3 members
- Round 1: 3rd November (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Final Round: 4th November (9:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
Process:
- Problem Release: The dataset and problem statement will be shared on 3rd November at 9:00 AM at the venue.
- Model Development: Participants can use any ML or DL framework (such as Python, R, TensorFlow, or PyTorch) to preprocess data, train models, and fine-tune performance.
- Refinement Phase: Teams can continue improving their models post the venue session and refine their submissions before the final deadline.
- Submission: Final predictions, code files, and a brief report must be submitted by 4th November at 2:00 PM for evaluation.

- Engage in a practical, hands-on ML competition simulating real-world challenges.
- Work with curated datasets that encourage analytical depth and problem-solving.

Rules and Guidelines:
- Participants may compete individually or as a team of up to three members.
- Any open-source ML or DL framework can be utilized. All submissions must be original; plagiarism or use of pre-trained public solutions will lead to disqualification.
- The dataset and problem statement will be disclosed only at the event venue.
- Participants must adhere to the submission timelines and evaluation criteria provided by the organizers. All decisions made by the judging panel will be final and binding.
- Submissions will be evaluated based on the performance metric defined in the problem statement, along with the clarity, explainability, and innovation demonstrated in the solution.
Accommodation and food will not be provided.
