Description:

StatHack is an online competition inviting data enthusiasts to solve real-world problems using data science techniques. Hosted on Unstop, the 72-hour hackathon challenges participants to analyze datasets, build predictive models, and compete for top positions on the leaderboard.

Competition Format:

  • Problem Statements: Two distinct problem statements will be provided.
    • Teams may tackle one or both.
    • If both are attempted, only the better-performing solution (based on the respective metric) will be considered for final scoring.
  • Evaluation Metrics: Each problem will have its own metric (e.g., RMSE, Accuracy).
  • Leaderboard:
    • Public Leaderboard: Displays scores on 30% of the test data and updates during the competition.
    • Private Leaderboard: Evaluates the remaining 70% of the test data and is revealed after the competition ends.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Format: Submissions must be in .csv format.
  • Team Submissions: Only the Team Leader must upload submissions on behalf of the team.
  • File Naming Convention:
    • <Unstop_teamname>_<question_number>.csv
    • Example: ananya_question1.csv
  • Submission Limits:
    • Up to 5 submissions per day per problem statement.
    • Only the last submission of each day will count toward the leaderboard.
  • File Requirements: Ensure the .csv file has the same number of rows and columns as the provided test dataset.

Judging Criteria:

  • Leaderboard Scores: Final rankings will be based on the Private Leaderboard.
  • Code Submission: The top 10 teams will be invited to submit their code for review.
  • Final Evaluation: The top 3 teams will be determined based on:
    • Private Leaderboard performance.
