All that you need to know about The Lazarus Missions
Contest Link: here. Good luck Soldiers!
The clock is ticking. The Lazarus Missions are calling upon the bravest minds in Machine Learning to embark on a four-day interstellar voyage, pushing boundaries beyond the event horizon. From March 1st, 6 PM to March 5th, 6 PM, explorers from across the universe—well, first, second, and third-year undergraduate students—will unite in teams of 1 to 3 members to decipher cosmic mysteries through Machine Learning.
And this is no ordinary journey! Organized by IEEE NITK, the challenge brings ₹15,000+ in prize money and awaits those who dare to venture deep into the unknown, with prizes awarded year-wise to ensure that every traveler has their moment to shine. But this isn’t just about rewards—it’s about survival. Only those who can navigate the black holes of Classical ML, Digital Image Processing, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, and Audio Processing will find their way home.
Guidelines:
- Eligibility: Open to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year undergraduate students from all colleges.
- Challenge Areas: A deep dive into Machine Learning, spanning galaxies of Classical ML, Digital Image Processing, Computer Vision, NLP, and Audio Processing.
- Team Composition:
- Inter-college teams: Absolutely—just like the best space crews.
- Inter-specialization teams? Of course—every great mission needs engineers, scientists, and visionaries.
- Team Size: 1-3 members—because even astronauts prefer a crew.
- Duration: 96 hours of uninterrupted brainstorming and model training! No sleep pods, just pure coding.
- Communication (IMPORTANT!):
- Connect with your crew and get real-time updates and guidance from the cosmos (or the organizers) via our Discord Channel.
The Rules of Space (and the Hackathon):
- This is a single-round, four-day event—no second chances, no wormholes to turn back.
- Participants can compete solo or with a team—because even astronauts need a crew.
- The scoring system will be based on the total points accumulated on your quests.
- Any sign of misconduct (aka cheating) will lead to immediate disqualification—because space has no place for impostors.
- Final decisions on disputes and eligibility will be made by mission control (aka the event organizers).
This is your chance to bend gravity, challenge the unknown, and make your mark on the Machine Learning cosmos. The Lazarus Missions are not for the faint of heart—only the most determined explorers will rise above the event horizon.
Prepare yourself for what's to come. See you at the launch!
