Details
Responsibilities of the Intern:
- Your objective would be to bring in external data from APIs and keep it updated in our system.
- Connect to APIs like MarineTraffic and OpenWeatherMap
- Clean and reformat incoming data
- Push it into ClickHouse and PostgreSQL
- Set up regular jobs (cron or Airflow)
- Monitor data freshness and reliability
- Success Metrics:
- Integrate 4 external APIs
- Ensure timestamp and freshness consistency
- Run update jobs every 1–3 hours
- Add alerts for data failures
- Write clear schema docs for each feed
Requirements:
- Departments: Computer Science, Data Engineering
- Skills Good to Have: Python (API handling, cron jobs, Airflow basics),
ClickHouse/PostgreSQL - Learnability: Willingness to work with real-time data pipelines and external data feeds
- Goal: Feed the pricing engine with live inputs (congestion, weather, fuel, FX).
