GE Powers is hiring for Engineering Intern!
Responsibilities of the Intern:
- Work effectively on an assigned project within Steam Power
- Work closely with an identified mentor on allocated projects/ activities
- Work closely with the design/ projects/ engineering community as per project/ business needs & support for on-time customer delivery with expected quality
- Basic how-on generator excitation & protection system design concept for power plants
- Support/ Perform the basic/ detail engineering activities, customer/ internal documentation, procurement, manufacturing, internal testing & customer inspection across assigned projects
- Support to improve simplification & establishing tools/ templates to enable faster turnaround and improve productivity
- Prepare the final internship report & submit it
- Document technical data generated by the assigned projects or activities, consistent with organization policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's/ Master’s in Electrical Engineering
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to present innovative ideas clearly for improvement
- Ability to understand the basic electrical & power electronic engineering concepts & able to define/ select the electrical/ power electronic components & define the ratings
- Able to define the solutions to customer w.r.t. contractual technical specification along with standard system design of Generator Excitation & protection systems for power plants
- Ability to troubleshoot & fix technical issues during design/ engineering & testing
- Familiar with CAD tools like AutoCAD, E3 Electrical
- Familiar with productivity tool like MS office, Outlook
- Familiar with different electrical design codes/ standards
- Good at understanding drawings and electrical engineering fundamentals
- Good teamwork, problem solving approach, communicate effectively with team members on the progress and obstacles faced
