Finance Internship

American Express is hiring for the job role of Finance Intern:

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Understand the core business of AXP and the levers behind various decisions.
• Understand the card economics and how loyalty programs drive those economics.
• Understand regulatory reporting instructions and changes proposed by the regulators. Act to implement the changes and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Contribute to critical business initiatives and other initiatives identified by leadership to transform current processes.
• Understand the specific business problem at hand and analyze relevant data to derive business insights and translate it into implementable solutions.

Requirements:

• Analytical Skills: Ability to manipulate large amounts of data, spot trends, and generate meaningful insights
• Technical Skills: Willingness to explore analytics or reporting tools to provide solutions to problems at hand
• Communication Skills: Synthesize data into an easy-to-understand story and articulate key messages across multiple audiences
• Agile Mindset: Positive, can-do attitude, adapt to change, and highly motivated self-starter
• Leadership: Act and lead with courage, build relationships, make decisions quickly & influence change
• Good Accounting Knowledge and understanding of financial statements are desirable
