Mergers and Acquisitions

• On 10th June, Intel declared that will acquire Barefoot Networks, an emerging leader in Ethernet switch silicon for the data center, accelerating delivery of Ethernet-based fabrics. This acquisition will assist Intel’s Data Center Group to meet the swiftly-growing requirements of Hyperscale Cloud clients.
• Intel Corporation acquired Omnitek, on April 6th, 2019. Omnitek is a leading provider of optimized video and vision FPGA IP solutions with technology that facilitates customized high-performance vision and AI inferencing capacities on FPGAs for clients across an array of end markets. 
• Intel Corporation on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, announced the acquisition of NetSpeed Systems, a San Jose, California-based developer of system-on-chip design instruments and interconnect fabric intellectual property, to be a part of Intel’s Silicon Engineering Group.

• Intel’s new software project “One API” will deliver a unified programming model to simplify application development across multiverse computing architectures.
• On April 9, 2019, Google Cloud and Intel announced the Strategic Partnership to Develop Anthos Reference Design to Simplify Deployment Across On-Premise Data Centers and the Cloud to Accelerate Hybrid Cloud.

• Environmental Sustainability:
  64B Gallons of Water Saved- Till date, their water conservation efforts have saved about 64 billion gallons of water. In 2018, Intel returned or restored 80% of our global water use and are on track to meet their goal to restore 100% by 2025.
• Diversity and Inclusion:
  Achieved Global Gender Pay Equity- In 2018, Intel achieved full representation in their U.S. workforce two years earlier than their 2020 goal. They also began globalizing their analytics and, in early 2019, announced that they had achieved gender pay equity globally.
• Social Impact:
  1.5M Volunteer Hours- Intel's employees surpassed its the 50th-anniversary goal in 2018 to have 50,000 employees give 1 million hours to local communities, with over 68,000 volunteers contributing approximately 1.5 million hours. The employees have volunteered for more than 10 million hours globally over the last 10 years.
  
• Supply Chain Responsibility:
  $14M in Fees Returned- To prevent forced and bonded labor, they set expectations with their suppliers that workers should not have to pay fees to obtain or keep employment. As a result, their suppliers have returned over $14 million in fees to workers since 2014.
