Data Engineer Associate

Metyis is hiring for the position of Data Engineer Associate.

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Work in a multi-disciplined team where you will turn data discoveries and ideas into models and insights
• Find how to leverage the data and the models to create and improve products for our customers, in lean development cycles
• Implement/ build methodologies as well as (understand how to) scale them together with the businesses
• Maintain a good, current, and demonstrable knowledge of adjacent application and market developments both for inspiration and for benchmarking the concepts
• Assimilate data sources into our data management platforms
• Structure data into a scalable and easily understood architecture

Requirements:

• A broad practice in multiple software engineering fields
• At least 1 year of consultancy experience or relevant industry experience
• Hands-on experience including programming to implement pipelines integrating database management systems, cleaning data, and improving its data quality
• Knowledge in Azure (AWS or GCP is a plus) and at least one programming language (Python, R, Scala), Hadoop clusters, different SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with agile methodologies
• You are inventive and passionate about streamlining and automating data acquisition and possess a highly structured approach to problem-solving
• Must have experience in Python, SQL, and distributed programming languages, preferable Spark
• Experience in data workflows and ETL, Apache Airflow is a plus
