AI Flutter Developer

About the Opportunity:

• We’re looking for a Founding Engineer to bring our MVP to life. You’ll work closely with the founder to architect, develop, and ship a cross-platform mobile app integrating speech transcription, large language models, and visual reflection tools. This is a hands-on, full-stack role with a focus on Flutter, AI APIs, and secure data handling.

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Lead development of the RETVRN MVP mobile app in Flutter (iOS & Android)
• Integrate voice recording and speech-to-text transcription using Whisper API or similar
• Set up secure, encrypted storage for user audio and transcripts
• Use GPT-4o (via API or prompt engineering) to summarize emotional tone, themes, and developmental stage
• Design and deliver reflective prompts based on user transcripts
• Build a clean and minimal evolution timeline interface
• Collaborate on user experience design that prioritizes trust, clarity, and introspection
• Ensure high standards for privacy, data security, and performance
• Iterate rapidly based on feedback and prototype testing

Requirements:

• Flutter & Dart: Strong experience building and deploying cross-platform mobile apps
• AI Integration: Experience with OpenAI, Whisper, AssemblyAI, or similar APIs
• LLM Prompt Engineering: Ability to craft and test prompts that drive meaningful reflection
• Cloud Functions & Storage: Familiarity with Firebase or similar (secure storage & auth)
• Data Privacy: Understanding of encryption, data protection practices, and ethical AI use
• UX Mindset: Ability to design intuitive, human-centered interfaces
• Startup Agility: Comfortable wearing many hats and working with ambiguity
• Communication: Clear, thoughtful collaborator with strong written/verbal skills
• Background in backend services: (Node.js, Python, Firebase Functions, etc.)
