Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Alaanpay is hiring for the role of Backend Engineer (Node.js)!

Responsibilities of the Candidate: 

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Design and optimize relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs for seamless integrations with external accounting platforms.
• Work with AWS services (Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS, SQS, etc.) for cloud-based deployment and scaling.
• Integrate with accounting platforms like Codat, Rutter, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, and others.
• Ensure security best practices in API authentication and data handling.
• Monitor and optimize backend performance and database queries.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps, and product teams for seamless deployment.
• Write unit and integration tests to maintain a high-quality codebase.

Requirements: 

• Node.js & TypeScript – Backend development experience
• PostgreSQL – Database design, optimization, and query tuning
• AWS – Experience with Lambda, RDS, S3, SQS, IAM, API Gateway, etc.
• Accounting Integrations – Codat, Rutter, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, or similar
• API Development – RESTful and GraphQL APIs
• Microservices & Serverless Architectures – Building distributed systems
• Message Queues & Event-Driven Architecture – Kafka, SQS, EventBridge, Pub/Sub
• CI/CD & DevOps – GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform (nice to have)
• Security & Compliance – OAuth, JWT, role-based access, financial data security
