Database Administrator

Epicor is hiring for the role of Database Administrator!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Providing timely and clear estimates, work with developers, and complete tasks to maintain quality standards.
• Contributing to cloud and database strategy, participating in best practices for performance, scalability, and sustainability.
• Contributing to functional database requirements and reviewing solutions to ensure they align with organizational needs.
• Proactively resolving database-related issues.
• Performance tuning
• Utilizing software development methodologies (GitOps and similar) tailored for database management and optimization.
• Keep up to date with training and expertise in modern database technologies.

Requirements:

• Strong technical acumen with hands-on experience in MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL database management.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, with Azure preferred.
• Strong understanding of database administration principles, including performance tuning and sustainability best practices.
• Knowledge of database-as-a-service (DBaaS) solutions as a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to foresee challenges within complex database systems.
• Experience in SQL backups, point in time restores, Handling data corruption issues (Optional)
• Experience in High availability, always on, Disaster recovery.
• Managing SQL Failovers
• Basic experience in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) We use this plenty.
• Experience in managing SQL Alerts such as log file growth, backups missing, Data and Log drive space issues, SQL job failures, Blockings, deadlocks, long running queries, Index failures etc
