Mercedes-Benz is hiring for the role of Layout Planning Engineer!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Develop and manage 3D facility layouts aligned with manufacturing concepts and project timelines
- Prepare technical specifications, evaluate equipment and facility items, and support approval and buy-off processes
- Plan and oversee installation of equipment and facilities, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline adherence
- Define scope of work for new and corrective orders in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Publish layouts and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Drive facility standardization through 3D digitalization and support continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Experience in Manufacturing Engineering within the Automotive industry with strong exposure to Digital Manufacturing tools
- Technical expertise in Equipment Planning, Assembly Planning, and Plant Facility Planning
- Proficiency in MicroStation, Navisworks, DELMIA V5, AutoCAD, and knowledge of plant scanning and point cloud data
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel Macros and VBA
- Fluent in English; German (A2/B1 level) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- Knowledge of vehicle building processes and facility management practices
- Experience in global stakeholder collaboration and digital facility standardization
