Mindtree is hiring for the role of Postgresql DBA with Azure!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Planning for Production Storage and Capacity Management.
- Create logical models and build physical models
- Creation, managing & migrating PostgreSQL schema, tables, tablespaces, and users, roles & groups in 10.x, 11.x,12.x,13.x, 14. x, 15. x to Azure Cloud including PaaS (Azure database for PostgreSQL single & flexible servers)
- Performance tuning and query tuning by generating and explaining plans for SQL queries.
- Expert in DBA functions like managing databases, backup & restore, scheduling jobs, space, performance management, principles of database replication, scalability, and high availability.
- Expert in Backup and recovery including Pg_dump, pg_dumpall, setting up WAL archiving, Point in time recovery.
- Analyze, recommend, and implement configuration for Optimized Performance.
- Ability to plan hardware capacity requirements for storage, memory, and CPU Cycles.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot, log shipping, cascading standbys, partial replication, continuous recovery, detach and reattach slaves.
- Understanding of UNIX environment with shell scripting.
- Troubleshooting and resolving database issues.
- HA/DR Setup including logical, physical standby.
- Conforming to client compliances and expectations.
- Migrating on-premise PostgreSQL to Azure Cloud.
- Migrating Azure Database for PostgreSQL (Single server) to Migrating Azure Database for PostgreSQL (Flexible server).
- Security setup: Enabling and configuring SSL Certificate Authentication to encrypt data transfer.
Requirements:
- Any of the following PostgreSQL certificates:
- PostgreSQL Associate
- PostgreSQL Professional
- Good working experience with all HA and DR solutions.
- Mandatory Technical skills required
- Good customer connects
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills to manage customer calls
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Good communication
- BCA/MCA/BE/B.Tech or equivalent.

Mergers & Acquisitions:
- Magnet 360: a US-based Salesforce consulting partner, Magnet 360 was acquired by Mindtree in January 2018, for a consideration of $50 Million with the motive to work in the fast-growing cloud computing services area.
- Relational Solution, Inc.: 100% of the equity interest in Relational Solutions was purchased by Mindtree in July 2015 for an all-cash transaction of $10 Million. Relational Solutions is Inc a US-based IT solutions provider specializing in technology services to the consumer goods industry.
- Bluefin Solutions: Bluefin Solutions, a UK based SAP HANA consultancy, was acquired by Mindtree for about
£42.3 million ($66 million) in July 2015 as a step to shore up its digital business. - Discoverture Solutions: for a consideration of $15 million (over Rs 92 crore), Mindtree acquired USA based insurance solutions provider, Discoverture Solutions with the aim to help the mid-sized Indian IT firm tap the $ 1.5 billion opportunities in the global P&C services market.
Corporate Social Responsibility
CSR initiatives of Mindtree are implemented through three channels- directly by Mindtree, trough Mindtree Foundation, and through ‘Individual Social Responsibility Programs’ undertaken by Mindtree Minds. Most of the Mindtree’s CSR initiatives focus on benefitting the differently-abled, promoting education, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. Listed below are the few initiatives are undertaken by Mindtree and Mindtree Foundation:
- I Got Crops (IGC): this platform enables farmers to directly sell their produce to the end-consumer and increase their revenues, thereby enhancing the entire agriculture value chain for a farmer — from crop selection to distribution and sales. The initiative has till now impacted 49,000 farmers from 466 villages spread across 6 states.
- I Got Garbage (IGG): this initiative empowers rag-pickers to formalize their work and help them climb up the value chain using technology to better organize their workflow and payments. This initiative has till now impacted 9,700 rag pickers, from across 8 cities.
- I Got Skills (IGS): this platform is developed using g a state-of-the-art technology stack with the aim to host a smart assessment and match-making engine based on National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF), covering over 2,200 job roles and 4,500 skills from 37 industry sectors and providing career recommendations to job seekers and instantly connects them with training providers and employers based on their interests and skills. This initiative has impacted 1.2 million candidates across 305 districts.
- University of Commons (UoC): this social change management platform brings together committed changemakers around India’s most pressing problems and engages volunteers, fellows, and social entrepreneurs to find creative ways of addressing social issues in their communities. 17,000 community workers have driven change with 200,000 hours of community work.
- I Got Knowledge (IGK): this education solution aims at identifying and solving gaps in student learning and school processes. This initiative has impacted 280,000 students from 7,500 schools spread across 75 districts in 13 states.
- #BetheGiveR: the spirit of giving back to the society which goes beyond just CSR is characterized by ‘#BeTheGiveR’. Through this initiative, 9,800+ volunteers across the world have participated in over 15 giving programs and have benefitted 33,000+ people globally.
