Tech Mahindra is hiring for the position of Software Developer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

  • Develop and deliver testable and high-performance results
  • Understand and design appropriate automated solutions based on business needs
  • Develop an understanding of implementing the business solutions and guide the fellow team members

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters Programs in Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT),
  • Information Systems (IS), Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), Informatics, or Software Engineering (SE)
  • U.S. citizens, GC holders authorized to work 40 hrs./week for any US employer
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Interest and willingness to travel and relocate
  • Basic understanding of Software Development life cycle such as Agile
  • Ability to quickly learn
  • Should have excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Desired professional skills include excellent communication skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of computer science concepts, programming, and Information Systems
  • Advanced knowledge in Java, C++/C# is preferred

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Objectwise Consulting Group Inc.: as a step to bring in strong capabilities in implementation and support of Pega software, Tech Mahindra acquired Canada-based Objectwise Consulting Group Inc. for a consideration of  ₹33 crore. This acquisition was announced on 17th June 2019.
  • Infotek Software & Systems Pvt. Ltd and Vitaran Electronics Pvt. Ltd: on 9th April 2019, Tech Mahindra announced its acquisition of 18.1% stake in Infotek Software & Systems Pvt. Ltd and Vitaran Electronics Pvt. Ltd each for consideration of ₹13 crore.
  • K-Vision: a Japan-based mobile network solution firm, K-Vision was acquired by Tech Mahindra in March 2019 for a consideration of $1.5 million as a step to support 4G and 5G telecom network roll-out in Japan. 
  • Inter-Informatics: Tech Mahindra, in August 2018 announced the acquisition of Inter-Informatics, a Czech Republic-based engineering services firm for a consideration of ₹80 million through a wholly owned subsidiary.
  • Dynacommerce: in February 2019, Tech Mahindra announced the acquisition of Netherland-based IT firm Dynacommerce Holding BV, for consideration of €15.9 million (around ₹128 crore).
  • Altiostar: US-based telecom software development company Altiostar Networks was acquired by Tech Mahindra in January 2018 for a consideration of $15 million in a cash deal. 

Key People

  • CP Gurnani: the current CEO and Managing Director of Tech Mahindra, CP Gurnani is a chemical engineering graduate from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela and also has been felicitated with an honorary Doctorate degree by the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology.
  • Manoj Bhat: the current Chief Financial Officer of Tech Mahindra, Manoj Bhat joined the company in 2002 and is also responsible for the mergers and acquisitions strategy of the company. He has a B. Tech degree from IIT Bombay and is also an MBA from IIM Bangalore.
  • L. Ravichandran: the current Chief Operating Officer of Tech Mahindra, L. Ravichandran, served as the COO of Perot Systems India prior to joining Tech Mahindra. Apart from holding a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, he is also a distinguished alumnus of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.

Corporate Social Responsibility

The CSR arm of Tech Mahindra, Tech Mahindra Foundation carries out the various CSR initiatives for the company towards the vision ‘Empowering through Education’. With corporate volunteering at the heart of the Foundation’s ethos, the employees volunteer in various programmes and contribute to driving positive change by participating in activities such as tree plantation, Swachhata Hi Seva, decorate the wall,  blood donation, card designing, bicycle rallies, diary donation along with conducting training sessions and mobilization initiatives for SMART students. Currently, more than 150 projects are in operation in 11 locations in India.

  • Education Projects: through its ARISE (All Round Improvement in School Education) programme, the foundation works with the Government Schools with the motive of holistic development of children in these schools. The foundation is also operating Shikshaantar, a programme for teacher’s training.
  • Employability: the project SMART aims at creating a model for the vocational training programme of international standards in the country. Launched in 2012, this project has trained more than 14,000 students by 2015-16 through its 75 SMART centres. These state-of-the-art academies impart high-quality training, with a blend of classroom, practicals and on-the-job training.
  • Disability: the Foundation has launched ARISE+ (All Round Improvement in Special Education) which encourages children with disability to become a part of the mainstream education with an emphasis on various educational and curriculum-based learnings and initiatives to support them in their primary school education. Another initiative is SMART+ (Skills-for Market Training for Persons with Disabilities) which focuses on providing employable market-related entrepreneurial skills, and opportunities to youth with disabilities.
