About Society of Mathematics: Society of Mathematics (SoM) is the Mathematics Club of Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU). Only a small number of people are conversant with the areas covered under the broad heading of Mathematics, except from maths classes and college-level mathematics. Mathematics aims to cover as much territory as possible by seamlessly integrating with other topics. In order to avoid obscuring the beauty that mathematics reveals, the Society of Mathematics presents mathematics in little units of learning in an effort to simplify life. The concept for this club came from a group of friends who noticed that many students struggled with basic mathematics and wanted to take a step ahead in learning mathematics collectively. The Society of Mathematics embarked on an exhilarating journey on 9th July 2018, marked by innovation and growth.
We organize various events like workshops, quizzes, math talks, etc throughout the year where students can learn and apply the concepts of mathematics in everyday life.
About Math Olympiad: Math Olympiad is one such event organized for school students by SoM. This electrifying competition, tailored for 11th graders, offers top prizes for winners of each grade and valuable preparation for college-level exams.
Rules:
- Only students in 11th grade can register. The question paper will be different for each grade.
- The Olympiad will be held online on Unstop.
- The total number of questions is 50.
- There will be 10 easy, 20 medium and 20 difficult questions.
- Marks distribution - 1 mark for easy, 1.5 for medium, and 2 marks for difficult questions. So total marks = 80.
- There will be no negative marking.
- Make sure to complete the test within the stipulated time.

Pandit Deendayal Energy University’s (Formerly Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University) 100 acre campus is located in Gandhinagar, which is the capital city of Gujarat and located 23 Km North from a well developed city called Ahmedabad with a population of 8 million people. HISTORY OF PDEU
Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) has been established by GERMI as a Private University through the State Act enacted on 4th April 2007. The University offers programs to address the need for trained human resources in the domains of Science, Technology, Management, and Humanities. It intends to broaden the opportunities for students and professionals to develop core subject knowledge which is duly complemented by leadership training interventions, thereby helping the students to make a mark in the global arena. This objective is being further addressed through a number of specialized and well-planned undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral programs as well as intensive research projects.
SCHOOLS@PDEU
School of Petroleum Management offers M.B.A. in (a) Energy & Infrastructure and (b) General Management, Ph.D., Post Graduate Diploma in Petroleum Management for Executives (PGDPM-X) and Management Development Programmes.
School of Petroleum Technology offers B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. programs in Petroleum Engineering. It is academically engaged in creating a high-quality talent pool for the hydrocarbon sector across the entire value chain.
School of Technology offers B.Tech. in the fields of Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer & ICT besides the Ph.D. Programs in the above areas. It also offers M.Tech in Nuclear & Solar Engineering and other disciplines.
School of Liberal Studies offers four year Bachelor program in the field of Liberal Studies, M.A. in Public Administration/ International Relations/ Political Science as well as the Ph.D. programs.
