All that you need to know about Cornell University Tata Scholarship

The Tata Scholarship Fund supports approximately 20 scholars at any point in time and ensures that the very best Indian students have access to Cornell, regardless of their financial circumstances. Cornell awards these scholarships annually, and recipients receive the scholarship for the duration of their undergraduate studies at Cornell.

Ratan Tata ’59, B. Arch ’62, is a Cornell trustee and the chairman of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group, one of India’s oldest, largest, and most respected business conglomerates. Mr. Tata is one of the most respected business leaders in the world and has received numerous prestigious honors recognizing his impact through his work and philanthropy.

Eligibility:

To receive the undergraduate scholarship, a recipient must be:

  • A citizen of India who has attended secondary school in India;
  • Offered admission to Cornell as an undergraduate student;
  • Eligible for need-based financial aid.

Tata Scholarships Cornell University for Indian Students, a joint venture between Cornell University and the Tata Trust, offers great benefits to Indian students aiming to pursue a business degree at a globally recognized institution. 

  • Tuition and Expenses: Scholarships cover the recipient’s tuition and fees, reducing the financial burden of attending Cornell University. 
  • Sponsoring 20 Indian Students Each Year: Tata Scholarships are awarded to 20 Indian students each year, giving them the opportunity to study at Cornell.
  • Four-Year Degree Award: As a need-based scholarship, this ensures that recipients will receive funding throughout their first four-year degree.
  • Funding in eight semesters for longer programmes: For programs that require enrollment in ten semesters, like B.Arch, funding is offered in eight semesters. 
  • Ongoing Financial Support: Cornell University guarantees Tata Scholarship funding as long as Tata Scholars demonstrate financial need.
