All that you need to know about HDFC Bank Parivartan's ECSS Programme 2023-24

HDFC Bank Parivartan's Educational Crisis Scholarship Support (ECSS) Programme is an initiative of HDFC Bank that aims to support meritorious and needy students belonging to underprivileged sections of society. 

Eligibility:

  • Open for Indian nationals only.
  • The students must be pursuing graduation courses (general courses- BCom, BSc, BA, BCA, etc. and professional courses- BTech, MBBS, LLB, B Arch, Nursing) in recognized colleges or universities in India.
  • The applicants must have passed the previous qualifying examination with at least 55% marks.
  • Annual family income must be less than or equal to INR 2.5 Lakh.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants who are facing personal or family crises that have occurred during the past three years due to which they are unable to continue bearing the cost of education and are at risk of dropping out.

Documents Required:

  • Passport size photograph
  • Previous year's mark sheets (2022-23)
  • Identity proof (Aadhaar Card/Voter ID/Driving License)
  • Current year admission proof (Fee Receipt/Admission Letter/Institution ID Card/Bonafide Certificate) (2023-24)
  • Applicant Bank Passbook/Cancelled Cheque (Information will also be captured in the application form)
  • Income Proof (any of the three proofs given below)
    • Income Proof issued by Gram Panchayat/Ward Counsellor/Sarpanch
    • Income Proof issued by SDM/DM/CO/Tehsildar
    • Affidavit
  • Proof of family/personal crisis (if applicable)

Rewards:

  • For general undergraduate courses - INR 30,000
  • For professional undergraduate courses - INR 50,000

About HDFC Bank

HDFC Bank Limited (also known as HDB) is an Indian banking and financial services company headquartered in Mumbai. It is India's largest private sector bank by assets and the world's fourth-largest bank by market capitalisation as of July 2023, following its takeover of parent company HDFC. It is the second largest company by market capitalisation of $172 billion on the Indian stock exchanges. It is also the sixteenth largest employer in India with nearly 1.77 lakh employees.

HDFC Bank was incorporated in 1994 as a subsidiary of the Housing Development Finance Corporation, with its registered office in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Its first corporate office and a full-service branch at Sandoz House, Worli were inaugurated by the then Union Finance Minister, Bhoop Singh.

As of 1 June 2023, the bank's distribution network was at 8,344 branches and 19,727 ATMs across 3,811 cities. It has installed 4,30,000 POS terminals and issued 2.35 crore (23.5 million) debit cards and 1.2 crore (12 million) credit cards in FY 2017. It has a base of 1,77,000 permanent employees as of 1 June 2023.
