UCC Ireland Meritorious Scholarship 2018 is a merit-based scholarship for Indian students, who are planning to take admission in undergraduates and post-graduate courses in UCC Ireland for September 2018 batch.
The college is offering the scholarship as a discount to their college tuition fees. Undergraduate Scholarship is applicable for 4 years (or the duration of course), subject to the student successful completion of each year as per the required standard for progression.
University College Cork Ireland, ranked in top 2% of Universities in the world, was founded in 1845. UCC degrees are internationally recognized and around 20,000 students take its Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs including 3,000 international students from over 100 countries. The University is located in Cork, which is Ireland’s second largest city and home to over 140 of the world’s largest companies. The college offers one-year Postgraduate Degree in multiple disciplines. Every year, ~97% of students get successful campus placement or project. Ireland issues work permit for 2 years after studies.
Eligibility Criteria:
For Undergraduate Courses:
• Applicant should have a merit of 85% in Maths in class 12th (In case, pursuing class 12th, Pre-board marks would be considered)
• Should have IELTS score in the range of 6 to 7 based on the courses mentioned in Annexure-2. IELTS score is not compulsory for few programmes at the time of application.
For Postgraduate Courses:
• Applicant should have scored more than 65% in 10th, 12th, Degree (In case pursuing Degree, previous Semester's Marksheet would be considered)
• Should have 6.5 to 7 IELTS score based on the courses mentioned.
For special QUERCES/PRESIDENTIAL (UG/PG Students)
• Undergraduate applicant should have a merit of 90% in class 10th and 12th
• Postgraduate applicant should have more than 85% in class 10th, 12th and Degree
• Should have 6.5 IELTS score with 6 band in each module or should have TOEFL score of 95
Award Details:
College of Science, Engineering and Food Science (SEFS):
- UG level: SEFS 25% scholarship of the annual fee
- UG level: Presidential 50% (x5) – application form
- PG level: UCC First Class Honours or equivalent (1H): 20% off tuition fee
- PG level: UCC Second Class Honours, Upper Division or equivalent (2H1): 10% off tuition fee
- PG level: UCC Second Class Honours, Lower Division or equivalent (2H2): EUR 1,000
College of Business and Law (CBL)
- PG level: EUR 3,000 Scholarship (for courses with fee >17k)
College of Medicine and Health (CMH)
- UG level: Nursing: 28% (if apply by end of Feb), 21% (if apply by end of March), 16% (if apply by end of May)
- UG level: Pharmacy EUR 5,000 (EUR 20k - EUR 5k = EUR15k each year)
- PG level: Nursing: 50% (if apply by end of March), 47% (if apply by end of April), 41% (if apply by end of May)
College of Arts, Celtic Studies, and Social Sciences (CACSSS)
- PG level: Excellence MSc x 12 (covers EU fee)
- PG level: Excellence PhD x 11 (covers EU fee)
- PG level: Boole International 50%
In addition to above, students can also participate for Quercus scholarship which offers 50% tuition fee reduction as scholarships.
Selection Criteria:
- Consistent academic performance in both curricular and extra-curricular activities
- Minimum cutoff scores in TOEFL or IELTS.
