Why is the Management Trianee program at ABG so popular?
When companies visit campuses, students tend to judge them based on their packages, but once they join these companies fresh out of their B-School, it sometimes becomes daunting to understand everything that is going on in the company. This disconnect sometimes lead to these freshers becoming overwhelmed and leaving the shiny high package jobs too!
Hence many big organizations have well-defined Management Trainee programs that act as the ready support systems which not only calm them down in the initial stages but also prepares them for the long career marathon. The Aditya Birla Group Leadership Programs (ABGLP) is considered to be one of the best in the industry since the mentors have years of experience of handling different industries altogether, and they train the MTs at each step to become the next generation leaders of ABG.
The program is subdivided into smaller stints to make the MTs aware of the various aspects of the business better. All these experiences help in making them gain deep insights into the business and grow at a much faster pace thereafter in the organization. Watch Ashok Ramchandran, Group Executive President, Human Resources, Aditya Birla Group talk about how ABGLP catapults students from one stage of their career through to the next.
Tips on how to make the most of your Management Trainee stint
So if you want to set yourself up for success, pay attention to these sage tips:
- Spend time with the front-line C-suite because they have a thorough understanding of all aspects of the company. The executives can disperse the facts others have no knowledge about.
- Keep all the facts and figures shared with you confidential. (Even if you are super-tempted to boast about your company’s grand projects and revenue.)
- Don’t be afraid to challenge set guidelines and norms. If you think you have a better approach to something, raise your point respectfully.
- Be patient with the results and keep a track of your progress by taking regular follow-ups from your mentor.
- Don’t take your Management Trainee job for granted. Even if your Manager asks you to get acquainted with the team, don’t just sit around and chill.
- It gets very easy to get absorbed into your daily tasks. But take time out to explore more opportunities and upskill yourself.
All in all, constantly live on the edge and adapt!
