Airbus, the world's largest aerospace company, intends to hire 500 more engineers and IT professionals in India. Citing the importance of Indian engineers and IT graduates in the development of the world's first Zero emission commercial aircraft- ZEROe. Airbus will increase its hiring in India from 1500 to 2000 people. In addition, the company also announced the potential creation of 6000 new jobs worldwide.

Airbus Recruitment Process 2022

Candidates who wish to be a part of the Airbus team have to pass through the company’s selection process, divided into four stages.

1. Online Application

The first step in the process is to fill out an online application form. Include all relevant details, and always double-check the application form for errors before submitting it. Also make sure to have a copy of all of the information you entered into the application.

During the interview, there are chances that you may be asked to provide information about your application. So make sure you're giving accurate information, as any information that differs from what you provided during the interview process may result in your application being rejected for further consideration.

2. Online Aptitude test

After submission of the online application form, the next stage of the recruitment process is the online aptitude tests. The Airbus recruitment aptitude tests are divided into four sections, each of which focuses on accessing the candidate's various abilities and skills.

  • Numerical Reasoning

The Numerical Reasoning test is intended to assess candidates' knowledge of a previously unseen passage and its data. A candidate has less than a minute to read the question, analyze the data provided, and perform the necessary calculations when taking the numerical reasoning test. This test allows the recruiting team to assess a candidate's knowledge as well as his or her ability to work under time constraints and stress.

  • Logical Reasoning Test

This is also referred to as an Abstract or Inductive Test. In this test, the candidate is shown various shapes and diagrams and asked to identify the correct pattern and indicate what comes next in the sequence. This test can be difficult because these patterns and trends can be very abstract.

  • Verbal Reasoning Test

This test evaluates a candidate's ability to correctly extract relevant information from an unseen passage of text in order to determine whether subsequent statements are true, false, or impossible to say based on the information contained in the passage of text. It also evaluates the candidates' communication abilities.

  • Situational Judgment Test

The Situational Judgment Test assesses a candidate's ability to handle unfamiliar work-related situations that may arise while working at Airbus. This test is designed to determine whether the candidate's values and decision-making reflect those of Airbus.

3. Assessment center

After passing the online aptitude test, the Assessment Center is the next step in the recruitment process. Candidates are evaluated here by senior members of respective areas and disciplines to determine whether the candidate will be able to work and deliver their best or not.

4. Interview

The interview is the final step in the recruitment process. The interview is primarily focused on the candidates' CVs and personal skills. During the interview, the candidate is evaluated to see if he or she demonstrates the key characteristics of the position and the ideal candidate.

How is India planning to contribute to ZEROe?

The ZEROe commercial aircraft will be introduced by Airbus in 2035. The multinational aerospace company has been exploring various technology pathways and aerodynamic configurations with its new approach to Zero emission flights. India will participate in the production of ZEROe in the following manner:

  • Make simulations and models to help calculate performance
  • Designing cooling systems for fuel cells
  • Contributing to programmes involving engineering designs
  • Subassemblies
  • Assemblies of major part and structure

In addition to all of this, a safety analysis is also included

Currently the Airbus' Bengaluru team is involved in analyzing the design and flow stimulation of new hydrogen concepts like air supply inlets, ventilation systems, and manifolds.

Future Plans of Airbus

The company's ambition is to be the first to lead the way in the decarbonization of the entire aviation industry. Airbus' ZEROe aircraft will be powered primarily by hydrogen. The use of hydrogen as a power source will provide a clean aviation fuel, allowing aerospace and many other industries to meet carbon-neutral targets.

Airbus' Chief Technical Officer, Sabine Klauke, spoke about the company's future plans, including how it is preparing to provide sustainable aviation to the world. By experimenting with three different configurations:

  • The turbofan design, which has a range of 2000 nautical miles and is powered by hydrogen rather than jet fuel, is intended for 200 passengers.
  • Turboprop design- with a passenger capacity of 100 and a range of 1000 nautical miles, powered by hydrogen combustion.
  • The third design is a hybrid wing body, which offers numerous hydrogen storage and distribution options.

Why Airbus?

Airbus, a well-known name in the aerospace industry, is working to create a more sustainable airspace in the future. Candidates who join Airbus will have the opportunity to interact with and work with new technologies. By joining the company, candidates will be working to shape the future of flight.
