Software Development Engineers (SDE) are needed for Amazon Pay and Seller Fulfillment Technology teams. The specific requirements for both the teams are as follows:
SDE-Amazon Pay
Key Responsibilities
- Help third party merchants to enable customers to pay with Amazon Pay Balance on their website or stores.
- Building a best in class payments solution and merchant experience that helps to exponentially scale while retaining customers and merchants trust.
Basic Qualification
- Programming experience with at least one programming language such as C++, Java, or C# including object-oriented design.
- 0-2 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Strong in Computer Science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis.
- Excellence in technical communication.
- Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Perl
Preferred Qualification
- Expertise in object-oriented design and coding skills.
- Expertise in Android or iOS internals.
- Experience with Android backend development.
- Experience in mobile SDK development.
- Web services and web application/services development experience.
- Experience in developing distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications in a 24/7 environment.

SDE 1-Seller Fulfillment Technology
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with senior engineers to frame and deliver high quality technology solutions.
- Operational rigor for a rapidly growing tech stack.
- Contribute to patents, tech talks and innovation drives.
- Assist in the continual hiring and development of technical talent.
- Measure success metrics and influence evolution of the tech product.
Basic Qualification
- Programming experience with at least one programming language such as C++, Java, or C# including object-oriented design.
- Possess an extremely sound understanding of basic areas of Computer Science such as Algorithms, Data Structures, Object Oriented Design, Databases.
- Good understanding of AWS services such as EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Lambda, API Gateway, ECR, ECS, Lex etc.
- Excellent coding skills in an object oriented language such as Java and Scala.
- Great problem solving skills and propensity to learn and develop tech talent.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualification
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and serverless architecture.
- Ability to think big about problem statements, recommend alternative technical approaches and build optimal solutions.
- Bar raising tech skills in building next gen customer experiences using micro services and UI technologies.
- Sound understanding of putting in place and leading engineering excellence initiatives across team(s) such as design reviews, Bar raising code and COE reviews, CI/CD (e.g. using Hydra, Bones etc), change management etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
