Apollo Munich Rise Up Challenge 2018-19

Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company Ltd. is a private sector health insurance company in India. Founded on 8 August 2007, it is a joint venture between the Apollo Hospitals Group and Munich Health. Apollo Munich Health Insurance has 180+ physical offices all over India and more than 3,200+ employees.

The Rise Up Challenge is a competition in three phases (an online quiz, a case presentation, and a presentation in the Grand Finale), that provides students from B-Schools and Engineering colleges, the chance to display their leadership qualities in front of the top management from Apollo Munich. It was open to all full-time engineering and B-School undergraduates and postgraduates. Each team was allowed to have only 2 members.

ONLINE ROUND

Upon completion of the registration process, participating teams took part in the Rise Up Pan India Quiz on Dare2Compete. The challenge assessed their analytical skills, logical reasoning, and problem-solving capabilities.

BUSINESS CASE PRESENTATION

Upon clearing the online quiz, the shortlisted teams were given 5 days time to submit their case studies. The briefing that the teams received from the organisers contained the case challenge, rules and regulations, guidelines, the mode of presentation and pointers to be covered in the final submission. The submission window opened on the 23rd of October and got closed on 28th October 2018 at 23:59 hours.

GRAND FINALE

All 5 National Finalists took part in the Grand Finale which was held on the 17th of December in Delhi. It was an awesome moment for the winners to gain direct entry into one of the most prestigious health insurance companies - Apollo Munich Health Insurance Pvt Ltd.

The teams presented their ppt simultaneously explaining their ideas to the jury members and were evaluated on the following parameters- innovation, implementability, etc. The team from IIM Lucknow - Noida Campus comprising of Akshay Agarwal and Mahesh Kanak was declared as the Winner. On the other hand, an all-girls team from IIM Kozhikode - Komal Agarwal and Kritika Batra, was declared as the 1st Runners Up.

AWARDS AND PRIZES

The winning team from IIM Lucknow - Noida Campus took home a sum of ₹40,000 along with their winning certificates. The Runners-up team from IIM Kozhikode received a sum of ₹25,000 and a certificate. This kind of challenge helps in opening the minds of the students by engaging them in practical business along with acing decision-making skills.
