Aviva The Next Big Idea 2.0
Life is unpredictable and not all the problems of the life are at the mercy of nature. Some of them can be fixed if one has money and the availability of proper resources. That is where taking a life insurance policy becomes important and Aviva caters to that need.
Aviva plc is a British multinational insurance company headquartered in London, United Kingdom. It has about 33 million customers across 16 countries. In the United Kingdom, Aviva is the largest general insurer and a leading provider of life insurance plans and pensions.
With multiple life insurance companies providing the best possible care to their clients, there has to be something unique that would make it stand out. This was realised in the form of AvivaThe Next Big Idea 2.0 which was designed to utilize the fresh minds of the students, giving them a scope to understand the insurance industry simultaneously bring out innovative ideas that would revolutionise the area of the insurance business.
Aviva The Next Big Idea 2.0 was open for only first-year students from the following campuses-

IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Kashipur, IIM Lucknow, IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Raipur, IIM Shillong, IIM Udaipur

IMT Ghaziabad, XLRI Jamshedpur, MDI Gurgaon, JBIMS, SPJIMR, SIBM Pune, NMIMS.
The participants had to form teams of 2 members and register online. The teams then had to submit their pitch on ‘What will be the next big innovation to drive Indian Insurance sector?’ The participants had to ponder over the question and think of a unique and innovative idea to bring in more people under the scope of the insurance.
The teams submitted their pitches by 11th August 2017 and the entries were scrutinised by the panel of the jury to judge the feasibility of the idea, economic viability, research aspect of the plan and on many other parameters.
After meeting all the requirements according to the expectations of the jury, Rahul Tripathi and Chinmay Gunthey from MDI Gurgaon was declared as the winner of the Aviva The Next Big Idea 2.0 followed by Anirban Paul and Kumardipta Sarkar from IMT Ghaziabad as the first runner-up. The team from IIFT Delhi grabbed the 2nd Runner-up position.
The winners received INR 40,000, INR 30,000 and INR 20,000 respectively along with a Pre-placement Interview call for Summer Internship program which was also extended to top 10 teams. The Next Big Idea 2.0 organisers also carried on with a social media competition in the form of Quiz-a-thon and Tweet-a-thon and the champions received prizes worth INR 30,000.
