Saptarishi and Rajarshi Majumdar, the twin brothers from Burdwan, West Bengal have got a campus placement worth Rs. 50 lacs per annum at PVP Inc, the strategic partner of Google, Japan. This is the first time in Andhra Pradesh that twin brothers were placed in the same company with the same salary package.
Both the brothers pursued Computer Science from SRM University, Andhra Pradesh, and became the first batch of students to graduate from the campus with such a rare feat. It is exceptionally commendable that at a time when COVID-19 has disrupted the global job market, Saptarishi and Rajarshi Majumdar have made it to their dream jobs. Since their childhood, the twins have been huge fans of Anime and Manga and have dreamt for the past ten years to go to Japan. They are fascinated by Japanese cuisine and culture and are happy to get a job in their favorite country that pays more than the average package of Rs. 7 Lacs.
On Cloud Nine
At PVC Inc, the twins shall be engaged as Technical Engineers. They will be working out of Tokyo, Japan. Rajarshi Majumdar said that both of them had enrolled themselves for a training program where the Japanese companies and corporates came to the campus placement. They secured their jobs from there itself.
Both Saptarshi and Rajarshi Majumdar are on cloud nine about visiting their dream country, Japan. They both have long, elaborate plans once they reach Tokyo. Although Japanese food is available in India, the twins want to try it out there to have a unique experience. Not only this, they want to visit different places and areas that they have only seen on screen. Their dream is finally going to take wings.
SRM University twins- A notch ahead
The twins, Saptarshi and Rajarshi, had fully prepared themselves before sitting for the placements. They had already learned the Japanese language at a program that was arranged by SRM University, and they were the last people who stood at the end of it.
The twins exclaim that the language was not as difficult for them as for others because they have been watching anime for a long time and understood the basics of the language. Saptarshi quipped that although the language was tough, they had an upper hand over the other kids.
What is the plan ahead?
At the end of the road, the twins have a larger goal in mind. Both Saptarshi and Rajarshi Majumdar eventually want to develop games. Of late, they will start working on Google cloud-related projects. Marking their unending passion for games, the twins remarked that though the game development companies are not hiring internationally at the moment, they would love to work in the field of game development.
The twins have grown up in Jharkhand's Bokaro before they stepped into the Amaravati campus of SRM University to pursue their course in Computer Science. Saptarshi and Rajarshi Majumdar's achievement also adds jewels to the crown of the University since they are from the very first batch and have bagged a world-class job. Proud of their success, Dr. VS Rao, SRMAP Vice-Chancellor, praised the twins and gave them a cash prize of ₹2 Lacs each as an award.
He added that this was the University's maiden campus placement drive and the achievement of the twins will favorably attract top recruiters. With a record 100% placement, around 71% of the students from the first batch bagged an annual package of ₹20 Lacs.
Their thoughts also twined!
The brothers, children of Biswajit Mazumder and Purabi Mazumder, exclaimed that it was very natural and obvious for them to be selected by the same company. This didn't come as a surprise for the twins because they have always stayed and studied together. With the same interests and ambitions, their "brains work the same way".
It is their bond that has made them reach such a height. Rajarshi said that whenever he is facing a tough question, his brother makes him understand and vice versa. As an avid football fan, Rajarshi loves Manchester United and Saptarshi is a fan of Barcelona.
The duo's story is a great motivation to follow our dreams and never give up, whatever the situation be. Only with such relentlessness and dedication, one can do wonders.
