Team Aurora SPJIMR Mumbai share the roadmap to PepsiCo Dare to Do More Challenge national finale
Our journey in Pepsico Dare to Do More Challenge started off by us wanting to create a new business model promoting sustainability. We wanted to do something that would be a win-win situation for both, the business and the environment.
The strategy that helped us reach the top
Our strategy was to identify two major problems that all of us hear about every day. The first covered the hurdles faced by a farmer and the second issue was that of water conservation. We felt deeply about both these issues and so we focused on proposing a model that would solve both. The unique idea that we proposed helped us reach the National Finale of PepsiCo Dare to Do More.
What made us different
We were amongst the top 10 teams who made it to the National Finale. Team Aurora comprises two people, Neha and Rohit. Both of us are engineers. Where Neha is an Electronics and Communications Engineer, Rohit is a Mechanical Engineer. The varied domains of both of us visualize things in different angles. This helped our team understand the broader aspect of the challenge and we gained a fresh perspective to view things from.
Reaching the grand finale of PepsiCo DTDM and competing with the best of the lot was a truly enriching experience for us. We learnt how different the stories of other teams were and how nicely they had put forward their ideas. All the teams had something different to bring to the table.
The lessons we learnt along the way
As we progressed along the stages, we learnt a lot more about sustainability and its impact on the environment. Pepsico Dare to Do More Challenge was an enriching experience for both of us and also provided us a chance to present our ideas to the leadership team at Pepsico. In all, the entire journey of the competition, from the very beginning to the culmination, reaching the National Finale, provided us a great learning opportunity.
