Data Analytica 3.0 Blackcoffer National Winner Shreya Chandra's Story
Since Big Data is the 'in' thing, this competition seemed very relevant to us, and what better way to learn than through competitions? It had domain wide topics to choose from, which we believe gave us a lot of exposure.
A lot of research was done into relevant topics, to find out what the past, present, and future of the problem statement is, to tackle the underlying issues, and to understand it from various aspects. It took us a few weeks to collect the relevant information and then structure it according to the need of the hour.
Honestly, working in a team like ours was great. We both have been great friends for a very long time, so we understand each other’s strengths. We are both hardworking, and Shoumik is great at following up, so he keeps everyone on their toes. I have learnt to be more responsive to his questions and doubts.
There was an initiative from both sides and we pushed each other towards the target. Each of our entries, lacked a little bit polish, and well, they always say 'Two heads are better than one'. Therefore, we took each other’s constructive criticism and aimed for the big prize. Besides, we were both in different cities while working on the project. So, it was a lot of collaboration to be on the same page but fun as well.
We looked at the entries of others. Hence, we believe that there was a structure in the judgment, according to the relevance of what was needed. We learnt how to cater to the kind of competition we are participating in and to read between the lines. Besides, we also got to know how to represent our thoughts and research. Overall, Data Analytica 3.0 provided us an experience we will cherish for a lifetime.
