Dr. Reddy's Amethyst 2017- PPIs + INR 10 Lakh Prizes
Dr. Reddy’s has started with a student engagement initiative named Amethyst in 2016, to bring students closer to its work culture and make them aware of the brand.
Amethyst 2017 was open for students currently pursuing a two-year PGP/MBA program in select campuses of:-
- Indian School of Business (ISB)
- Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad
- Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore
- Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta
- Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow
- Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode
- SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai
- XLRI, Jamshedpur
- Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi
- NITIE, Mumbai
The students were required to form teams of 2 or 3 members to participate. Amethyst 2017 was played on the Dare2Compete platform and the registration for the same commenced on 29th Nov’17.
Amethyst 2017 was divided into two rounds :
Qualifying Round - An Online Quiz
The team leaders of all participating teams get to play the online quiz session on Dare2Compete. The quiz grilled the participants to check their knowledge in various domains. Top 8 teams from each campus got the opportunity to participate in a business simulation game. The online Quiz was held on 9th Dec ‘17.
Second Round - An Online Business Simulation Game
Top 8 teams per campus took part in the online Business Simulation Game on 13th Dec ‘17. This round was conducted to test the business acumen, understanding of analytics and strategy approach in the students. Top team per campus was selected to represent their campus in the final round.
Grand Finale
Top 10 finalists were invited to Dr. Reddy's Headquarters in Hyderabad where they are given a case study to be solved. The team with a feasible and innovative solution to the problem highlighted in the case is declared as the winner. View the complete details of the competition here.
Winners and Awards
The team comprising Manish Solanki, Chiranjiv Rajan, Abhinav Daalia from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode was declared as the winner of Dr. Reddy's Amethyst 2017, followed by the team from IIM Calcutta and FMS Delhi.
Dr. Reddy has been the brand who conferred the highest amount of cash prizes amongst all other B-school competitions. The winner of Amethyst 2017 received a sum of INR 5,00,000 along with a Pre-placement Interview call from Dr. Reddy’s followed by the first runner-up with INR 3,00,000 and INR 1,00,000 was awarded to the second runner-up.
