DRDO IRDE Internship 2025: 6-Month Paid Opportunity, Apply Now!
The DRDO is inviting applications from eligible final-year students pursuing undergraduate or post-graduation in engineering or science with excellent academic records for a 6-month paid internship at its premier laboratory, the Instruments Research and Development Establishment (IRDE), Dehradun.
IRDE is engaged in advanced research and development in optics, opto-electronics, and photonics. This internship offers final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students a valuable opportunity to contribute to innovative defence technologies.

Selection Process
- Shortlisting based on academic performance and interaction/interview.
- Selection is purely merit-based. No communication will be sent to non-selected candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
- Pursuing a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree in engineering or science from a recognised Indian university/institute.
- 75% marks or 7.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) minimum in qualifying degrees.
- Age: Below 28 years as on the date of application.
- Application must include a recommendation letter from the Principal/Director of the candidate’s institution.
Stipend and Attendance
- INR 5,000 monthly, paid in two instalments (first after 3 months).
- A minimum of 15 working days' attendance per month is required for stipend eligibility.
- No stipend for candidates leaving before 3 months; no certificate will be issued in such cases.
