The Recruitment & Assessment Centre (RAC) of DRDO is currently inviting online applications for Scientist 'B' positions. This opportunity is open to graduate engineers and postgraduates in Science, including those who have appeared for their final semester examinations.

Successful candidates will be recruited into various esteemed organizations such as the Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) itself, the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), and encadred posts within the Weapons & Electronics Systems Engineering Establishment (WESEE), College of Military Engineering (CME), Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), and Selection Centres under Army HQ, Navy HQ, Air HQ, and other Ministry of Defence units.

DRDO RAC Scientist 'B' Salary & Emoluments

The salary of DRDO RAC Scientist 'B' posts starts at Level-10 (7th CPC), with a basic pay of INR 56,100. Total monthly emoluments, including HRA and allowances, are approximately INR 1,00,000 in metro cities.

Note: The emoluments for encadred posts within the Indian Armed Services will be paid by their respective HQs and are non-transferable to DRDO Establishments.

DRDO RAC Recruitment 2025: Selection Process

The selection process for Scientist 'B' positions at DRDO RAC is merit-based, designed to identify top talent.

Shortlisting for Interview

Eligible candidates will be meticulously shortlisted for the Personal Interview based on their valid GATE scores (2023, 2024, or 2025). This shortlisting will be conducted in a 1:10 ratio, taking into account both discipline-wise and category-wise merit.

Shortlisted candidates will then be required to confirm their availability for the interview and select a preferred date from the pre-defined calendar on the RAC website by a specified deadline.

Interview and GATE Score Validation

On the day of the Personal Interview, candidates may be asked to validate their GATE scores directly from the official GATE Results portal using their personal login credentials.

Final Selection Criteria

The final merit list will be prepared based on a combined assessment, with 80% weightage given to your GATE score and 20% weightage to your performance in the Personal Interview.

It is crucial to note that only candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in the Personal Interview will be considered for the final merit list, irrespective of their GATE score. Candidates failing to qualify for the interview will not be selected.

Appointment and Verification

Offers of appointment will be extended strictly based on the final merit list and the number of available vacancies. All appointments are contingent upon successfully clearing a prescribed medical examination for Group 'A' Technical posts of the Government of India, including field service liability, and satisfactory verification of character and antecedents.
