The Nitty-Gritty of the Competition
The program was organized by Extra-C, a Patna-based civil society organization, in collaboration with AICTE and UGC. It was the first-of-its-kind crossword initiative organized by the two higher education regulatory bodies. Amitabh Ranjan, chief operating officer of the Extra-C explained the whole process of this wonderful and unique competition on Sunday. We have summarized it below.
- In the first round, students from all colleges and higher education institutes can participate
- They would need to solve Crossword online for four consecutive Sundays.
- On April 24, 2022, a cumulative Leaderboard will settle upon the top two participants from each institute.
- These will go on to form the institutions’ teams for the two subsequent offline stages – five zonal finals and a national Grand Finale.
Mr. Ranjan also explained that the initiative was conducted to promote knowledge-based co-curricular activities in higher education institutions. After the success of the inaugural edition, plans are on for another round next year!
