The distinctive number of offers rolled out this year in IIM Calcutta Final Placement 2020 portrays the industry’s confidence in the bright minds of its students.
IIM Calcutta witnessed another round of successful completion of the final placement of the 55th PGP batch. The placement drive attracted a large number of leading companies that offered niche profiles to students. IIM Calcutta Final Placement 2020 has marked the benchmark of the highest-ever average salary of INR 28 LPA. The median salary this year also saw a rise from INR 23.75 LPA in 2019 to INR 25.40 LPA. Overall 439 students have been placed with 136 firms. Candidates were extended 492 offers by top firms like McKinsey & Co, Bain & Co, Kearney, Boston Consulting Group, and PricewaterhouseCoopers among others.
As far as average annual CTC for top 10 percent of the batch is considered it touched the astounding amount of INR 54.5 LPA and INR 41.8 LPA for the top quartile. IIM Calcutta Final Placement 2020 also offered Dream and Wait and Hold option to increase the number of choices available to its students. It also helped the recruiters to choose the best fit from a larger pool of talent.
According to several domains, the consulting sector followed the trends of final placement 2019 by recruiting the highest percentage of students. The share of GM and Sales & Marketing also increased from 26 percent to 30 percent this year. Product Management, IT/analytics, Operations, and BFSI altogether made 39 percent of the offers in the final placement.
The Marquee Finance and Private Equity-Venture Capital (PE-VC) firms rolled out 83 offers. The prominent recruiters of this domain are Barclays, Goldman Sachs, Arga Investment Management, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Gaja Capital and JP Morgan Chase. They added up to 17 percent of the total offers made in the final placement 2020.
They remained the second-highest job offering domain with 30 percent of the total share. Some of the prominent recruiters who pitched in the IIM Calcutta final placement 2020 are Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance, Vedanta, TrueNorth, Hindustan Unilever, Colgate-Palmolive, ITC, Mondelez, FIITJEE, TAS, and Aditya Birla Group.
The consulting sector again dominated the final placements with 31 percent of the total sector-wise split up. The prominent recruiters include Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Co, Bain & Co, Kearney, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Accenture. Year by year they have shown trust in IIM Calcutta for extending their team of ingenious employees.
The major firms recruiting for these roles include Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, Amazon, Flipkart, Udaan, EXL Service, American Express, HCL, UnitedHealth Group (Optum) and Mastercard. They hired some of the highly skilled and capable students to join their corporate team. The total offers aggregate to 22 percent of all the domains.
The excellence continued to thrive in this placement drive as well. The hard work of its students, placement and preparation team bore ample fruits.
