Eximius 2018: The biggest e-summit among business schools in India
Eximius 2018, the flagship entrepreneurship summit of IIM Bangalore (IIMB) was held on 4th and 5th of August. Currently, in its 11th year, Eximius is the biggest B-School entrepreneurship summit of the country. It is conducted by the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Cell in association with NSRCEL, India's 3rd largest incubator.
This year, Eximius has grown exponentially with a footfall of 24k+ from 1500+ colleges, 500+ startups and 350+ corporates.
Eximius hosted over 55+ speakers, with some heavyweights of the industry like Mr. Parth Jindal (MD, JSW Cements), Mr. Ananth Narayanan (CEO, Myntra & Jabong), Mr. Yashish Dahiya (Founder-CEO, PolicyBazaar), Mr. Deepak Ohri (CEO, Lebua Hotels), India's youngest CEO, Ms. Ira Singhal (AIR 1, UPSC 2014) and many more.
There were also a host of panel discussions on venture capitalists, unconventional startups, social entrepreneurship, services and The Viral Fever (TVF). Eximius also organized Young Leaders Consortium and Women Leaders Consortium, hosting founders and CEOs of CommonFloor, InsideIIM, GradesDontMatter, HackerEarth etc.
Eximius 2018 had 45+events where participants from top colleges across India competed against each other to solve startup problems in the field of strategy, operations, marketing and analytics. Several workshops on fundraising, marketing, entrepreneurship, market intelligence etc. were also held.
Two of the biggest events in Eximius were Bzzwings, the annual B-Plan Competition & Pitcher Perfect, a pitching event for social start-ups with proof of revenue and an opportunity to bag funding of over INR 1 Cr+ .
Bzzwings was a B-Plan competition organized in association with the N. S. Raghavan Center for Entrepreneurial Learning, the incubation cell at IIMB. The case focused on transforming innovative ideas into fruition in an attempt to take the society and industry to greater heights. The top 2 winning teams got an opportunity to incubate their ideas at the NSRCEL while other ten teams got mentorship opportunity from NSRCEL.
The event Pitcher Perfect was for the aspiring social entrepreneurs. Startups those are providing products and services to solve societal and environmental problems were given focus in this event. With the onset of heavy technological solutions, social entrepreneurs can use, create and exchange information to have a successful venture. This competition focused on harnessing the entrepreneurial energy of B-school students to power a social change.
Apart from these ongoings, NSRCEL, the incubation cell of IIM Bangalore, conducted an Intern Fair on the first day of Eximius 2018. During this fair, all the startups across various sectors shared their internship opportunities. Interns at NSRCEL benefited from the ecosystem of industry experts, mentors, researchers and academicians available to startups.
