Federal Bank is inviting applications for its two-year internship programme in retail banking for young candidates. Interested and eligible candidates can apply to this programme till 23rd October 2021.
The internship programme is an excellent opportunity for candidates aspiring a career in retail banking. The programme provides young people an opportunity to learn and experience some important domains such as wealth management, financial planning, business communication, etc. which are paramount for a career in finance.
The programme is a collaborative effort by Federal bank and Manipal Global Education Services(MaGE), with the latter designing the learning curriculum. The internship would involve learning in the phygital mode i.e. a combination of both physical and digital classroom. Apart from the learning aspect, candidates would get an opportunity to be a part of a 24 month paid internship(upto 27,500 per month) at Federal Bank offices across India.
Eligibility Criteria for Federal Bank Internship
To be eligible for this internship, you would need to meet the following criteria as given by the Federal Bank official site:
- Candidates must have secured an aggregate score of 60% or more in class 10, 12 and graduation(Irrespective of the domain).
- Applying candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Only Candidates aged 27 or below( as on 1st October 2021) can apply for the programme. For SC/ST, the upper bound for age is 32 years till the same date.
- Candidate must be a domicile of one of the states:Haryana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Goa, Telangana, or Uttar Pradesh.
Federal Bank Internship Program (FIP)
The federal bank internship program(FIP) involves both the learning curriculum and paid working experience to give students an opportunity to learn holistically. Firstly, the learning curriculum spans over the two years in the form of two terms. The first term is from the starting month to the 12th month of the internship and the second one spans over the remaining period(Month 13-24).

Federal Bank Screening Rounds
Federal bank conducts online aptitude test, group discussion, robotic interviews, and final interview (can be offline across various centers) or as decided by the bank. The date for the online aptitude test is tentatively 7th November 2021. The test consists of 5 sections that need to be completed within 80 minutes. The test has a negative marking scheme in which each wrong answer attracts a penalty of 0.25 marks. After the online test, there would be a psychometric questionnaire for 15 minutes.
