General Management offers increase by 50% | FMS Summer Placement Report 2018-20

The Summer Placement of FMS Delhi, for the batch of 2018-20, wrapped up well, offering students an opportunity in every domain. While a number of famous recruiters turned up to offer internship opportunities to students, a considerable number of start-ups came too, to give students a flavour of the realm of entrepreneurs. A brief analysis of the Summer Placements is mentioned below.

Overview

In a batch of 230 students, 215 opted for Summer Placements, all of which got placed. Across 16 sectors, 81 companies came on ground to recruit students. A rough picture of the same is stated below.

Highlights

As per the analysis, an overall increase of 45% was witnessed in the number of offers made in the Healthcare and Pharma Sector. In addition, the offers in General Management increased by 50% and that in the domain of Finance by 16%.

A general idea of the students placed in every domain along with the companies which came on board is given below.

Sales & Marketing

The Marketing domain dominated the number of internship opportunities offered this year as well. Offering roles in the sectors of FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Consumer Electronics, E-Commerce, Retail, Automobile sector and Industrial Goods, the campus saw famous companies like Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, Godrej, HUL amongst others, roll out offers.

E-Commerce/ IT/ Operations

The domain of IT/ E-Commerce has witnessed a gradual rise in the number of opportunities in the recent years. Where the Summers last year saw Info-Edge and Flipkart return, new recruiters like PhonePe, Eli Lilly, Go-MMT, Vodafone-Idea and Pepperfry built fresh associations with the institute.

BFSI

The number of students opting for the Finance domain at FMS has increased considerably over the years. This has in-turn led to a substantial rise in the number of offers made to the students in this particular domain. From Corporate Finance to Front End Investment Banking, FMS witnessed 30% offers in the coveted roles of PE, IB and VC.

Consulting/ General Management/ Strategy

In this sector, companies like A T Kearney, Accenture Strategy, BCG, PwC SDC, Synergy Consulting and EY recruited the role of front end consulting. For General Management in particular, companies like GE, RPG, RIL, Airtel and TAS recruited students in large numbers.
