How to Host a Coding Assessment on Unstop?
In order to conduct a coding assessment on Unstop, follow the steps listed below:
i) On Unstop, click on the host button on the right corner of the page. As you click on Host, you will be redirected to the pop-up for hosting an opportunity on Unstop.
ii) On this pop-up, select Hackathons & Coding Challenges under ‘Hiring’:
iii) After you select Hackathons & Coding Challenges, you will be redirected to the page where you can enter the required details. These include both, Basic Details about the opportunity and Registration Details.
Basic Details include information like:
- The opportunity sub-type
- The opportunity title
- Categories
- Opportunity description
Registration Details include information like:
- Participation Type
- Start and End Date and Time
iv) As soon as you enter the required details, Unstop will create a microsite for your challenge. This will only take a few seconds.
Important note: You can customize your microsite as per your requirements - like adding your banners, rounds, etc. You can also edit the details about the opportunity, such as the registration details, payment details, etc. To do so, simply click on the relevant section on the left panel and edit the details.
v) Once your microsite is created, it’s time to begin adding round details. To do so, click on Round & Timeline from the panel on the left. A popup will appear, wherein you can add round details by clicking on the ‘Add Round +’ button.
vi) Once you click on the ‘Add Round+’ button, you will be asked to select the type of round. Unstop offers six different rounds that you can choose from. After selecting the relevant round, proceed to add all the required information about the round. You can opt for the round to be conducted on Unstop or your site.
You can add relevant information across the available tabs. These tabs are Basic Information (where you add basic information about the challenge like duration, proctoring checks, etc.); Hackathon Settings (where you select the settings like languages, difficulty level, etc.); Challenges (where you add the coding questions), and Evaluation (where you evaluate the submissions). In the end, you can select the ‘Declare Results’ tab to share the results of the challenge.
For example, if you choose a coding round, then you need to add information about the round duration, maximum marks, proctoring checks, etc. Since it’s a coding challenge, you can also select the languages being assessed, the level of difficulty, the tags, etc.

vii) After adding all the relevant information, simply click on the close button in the bottom left corner. Your coding challenge is now ready!
viii) Click on the Publish button at the bottom right corner. Once your opportunity is approved by Unstop, your challenge is open to the public for registration.
