CBSE exams mark an important milestone in the trajectory of a students life. This year, as the country entered the battlefield mid-exams, students were left stranded. This being the first time that the authorities are dealing with a situation like this, a lot of firsts had to be drawn. Many firsts were in store for students as well, as they witnessed the month-long unfurling of the DU admission schedule then the well-received decision by the Delhi Government to call off state university exams.

D-Day is finally here!

After much ambiguity about the result declaration date, Class 12th CBSE results have finally been declared. The results like always have been declared online and can be viewed at results.nic.in, cbseresults.nic.in and cbse.nic.in or the UMANG app or via SMS.

As the country went into complete lockdown mid exams, the board has had to devise an evaluation system that would be just to those who have and have not appeared for their exams.

This year the Class 12th CBSE results were declared on the basis of exams that the student has already appeared in. A few parameters have been put in place to ensure that every student is graded fairly. The base is the number of exams attempted by the student.

If a student has appeared in:

  • More than 3 exams - The best 3 performing subjects will be identified, the average score of these 3 subjects will be the score that is awarded for the subjects that the student was unable to attempt the exam.
  • 3 exams - The best 2 performing subjects will be identified, the average score of these 2 subjects will be the score that is awarded for the subjects that the student was unable to attempt the exam.
  • Less than 3 exams - For students who have appeared for 1 or 2 exams, their result has been calculated basis their internal assessment, project work or practicals and their performance in the exams they have appeared in.

Class 12th CBSE results highlights

  • In contrast to last years 7.82 % securing 90% marks, this year a whopping 13.24% students have secured 90% and above.
  • Government Schools showed an overall pass percentage of 94.4%
  • KV Schools showed an overall pass percentage of 98.62%
