How an internship at Asian Paints Limited groomed me professionally -By Rahul Pandey from Jaipuria Institute of Management

Since its inception in 1942, Asian Paints Limited has come a long way to become India’s leading paint company. It has operations spread across 16 countries. Getting a chance to do my summer internship at Asian Paints Limited was nothing less than a dream come true.

What is the selection process for doing an internship at Asian Paints Limited?


The selection process for doing was quite simple and comprised of:

  1. Aptitude Test

  2. Group Discussion

  3. Personal Interview


Sailing through the Asian Paint Limiteds' selection process required perseverance and passion. I am quite amazed by the fact that I was able to crack it without much difficulty. My friends found it to be quite demanding.

What was my role during my internship at Asian Paints Limited?


I was hired as a Market Research Intern. It basically involved studying possibilities and devising strategies to increase the company’s Market Share. Each day came packed with a new challenge. I was more than ready to deal with it. The dynamism attached to my role always kept me motivated and made me hit office daily with full enthusiasm. Obviously, this is what I had always been looking forward to.

What did I learn during the course of my internship?


Given the domain of my role, I got a wonderful chance to work on and enhance my soft skills. Various areas that I could improve upon were Communication Skills, Time Management, and analysis of Customer Purchasing Behaviour. I personally believe that my internship at Asian Paints Limited contributed to my holistic development and groomed me professionally. 

What is the work culture at Asian Paints LImited?


Fortunately, I didn’t need to move to a new city to attend my internship at Asian Paints Limited. The stringent deadlines left us with little to no time for an official team outing. But this was never a setback as there was enough room to interact with the seniors in the office itself. Moreover, the work culture was so relaxing that we never felt the need for an outing.

I would be elated if I could grab an opportunity to work with Asian Paints Limited. Working with this reputed organization would guarantee me a promising career. It’ll give me an indispensable experience in the domain of my intrigue. The mere thought of being associated with such a reputed brand thrills me to the core!

What did I learn from my mentor during the course of my internship?


My mentor was my support system during the course of my internship at Asian Paints Limited. His invaluable presence made me sail through my internship with the utmost ease. I also made memories I will cherish forever. All the credit goes to him for making me a thorough professional in the domain of Sales.

To wrap up, my internship at Asian Paints Limited was one hell of an experience that will cling to my memory forever. During my internship, I embarked on a journey of learning and unlearning a lot of things. Surprisingly, I could also tap into my hidden potential and discover capabilities that even I didn’t know I had.
