How an internship at Bajaj Capital Limited helped me gain practical exposure in the field of Sales | Swadha’s story

Bajaj Capital Limited, a common household name for more than 50 years, promised to offer me some invaluable insights into the domain of Finance. One of the biggest reasons for me to choose this internship over others was the brand name, a crowned jewel for my CV, that came along. I knew that doing an internship at Bajaj Capital Limited could prove to be a major turning point in my career and I couldn’t let go of this opportunity at any cost.
The selection process kick-started with an Orientation-cum-Presentation by the Bajaj Capital Limited team. In this presentation, they briefed the candidates about the entire internship plan and its humongous success in the preceding years. This session was an eye-opener that filled our hearts with high expectations.
Post the presentation, Bajaj Capital Limited began with its selection process that comprised of just one step: Personal Interview. Although it might appear easy, in reality, this was the only chance at my disposal to get onboard and prove my worth to the company. Although initially a bit nervous, I started gaining confidence as the Interview progressed. I could answer most of the questions to the interviewer's satisfaction. Given my interview performance, it wasn’t a shock that I secured an internship with this reputed organization.
My internship at Bajaj Capital Limited was titled 'Wealthprenuers'. As the name suggests, I was associated with the Wealth Management Team of Bajaj Capital Limited. Although the job profile didn't list my responsibilities explicitly, I knew that only my confidence can make me sail through my internship with the utmost ease. To be more clear, I was staffed on a project that was a mixture of Financial and Marketing roles. Personally, I feel that I could not have been assigned a more appropriate role than this because it helped me redefine my boundaries and tap into my hidden capabilities.
My decision to pursue an internship at Bajaj Capital Limited came after a lot of discussions. Stepping into this internship, I had a lot of expectations. It turned out to be exactly what I had wanted, maybe even more!
I gained practical exposure in the Sales field during the course of my internship at Bajaj Capital Limited. Apart from that, I also understood the thought process that goes behind in the making of any investment decision. All this acquainted, rather connected me with the domain of Finance on a personal level. I now feel like a well-informed individual capable of making independent investment decisions. What I learned during my internship at Bajaj Capital Limited proved beneficial to me not just on the professional but also on the personal front.
Fortunately, I didn't have to move to a different city to attend my internship at Bajaj Capital Limited. This saved me from all the hassle of finding a new place and the emotional cost of adjusting to a new environment. The most memorable experience of my internship to date was the office tour that happened towards the end. I was completely awestruck by the layout of the office complex. There are n-number of cabins for employees to work in but no one, not even the senior officials, are assigned personal cabins. Be it a senior leader or a newcomer, everyone sits together and does, rather enjoy their work. In an attempt to encourage interactions among employees, there are no wired computers or telephones in the office. This unique office concept simply left me wondering about the value that Bajaj Capital Limited places on its employees. It was commendable!
If the company offers me a job profile of my interest, I would be more than happy to grace the opportunity. But it doesn’t imply that I am averse to other opportunities that life has in store for me. I would definitely like to try my luck in other areas as well!
My mentor was my guide, supporter, influencer and motivator during my internship at Bajaj Capital Limited. He worked day and night to enhance my Communication and Presentation skills and I can't thank him enough for that. His able support and guidance transformed me into a young individual ready to enter the corporate world.
There are two unforgettable incidents that happened during the course of my internship at Bajaj Capital Limited. I would love to pen them down here.
On a concluding note, I would like to mention that my internship at Bajaj Capital Limited was an enriching experience. It gave me friends, connections and most importantly, memories for a lifetime.

- Thanks to Google Maps, I lost the way on the very first day of my internship. Neither I nor my friend had any idea what to do next! Finally, after 1 hour of hard work (I mean really hard work), we could make it to the correct destination, just in time. Aah, it was quite a good start (pun intended) for my internship at Bajaj Capital Limited.
- Another incident that I remember, happened during the training session. Our trainer introduced himself in a unique way - he told us 1 truth and 2 lies about himself and then asked us to guess the lies. He maintained that we should also introduce ourselves in the same way and then others would guess which ones were lies and which one was the truth. Out of excitement, I blurted out 3 truths instead of just one when my turn came. It was a bit embarrassing but we had a good laugh about it afterwards.
On a concluding note, I would like to mention that my internship at Bajaj Capital Limited was an enriching experience. It gave me friends, connections and most importantly, memories for a lifetime.
