The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is a worldwide investment banking, securities board firm that gives a wide scope of money related administrations to a significant and broadened customer base. It is one of the top firms globally, with a great culture. I was getting the opportunity to work in a domain of previous work experience at a larger scale. Thus, the internship at Goldman Sachs Group promised to provide me with loads of experience and great exposure to the banking world.
What is the selection process for an internship at Goldman Sachs Group?
The selection process for an internship at Goldman Sachs Group comprises of the following stages:
- Shortlisting on the basis of CV
- Panel Interviews
The selection process started with shortlisting based on CV. Post that, there were 3-4 rounds of panel interviews which were quite difficult, to be honest. I mostly had questions directed at my interpersonal skills.
What did I learn during my internship?
For my internship at Goldman Sachs Group, I worked as a summer analyst in the Internal Audit division. With an emphasis on teamwork, networking with people, and excellence in work, I was able to enhance my knowledge, analytical and interpersonal skills.
I moved to Bengaluru for my internship at Goldman Sachs Group. The experience you get in this city is quite mesmerizing. The scenic beauty, the traffic, the restaurants, the parks, the night walks, made it an unforgettable experience here. In addition, I even tried to learn a bit of Kannada (the local language) and actually mastered it in a few weeks! No, not really, C’mon who am I kidding? I failed miserably at the attempt. I did learn a few useful words like thank you, sorry, etc. which proved to be more than enough.
The feedback and review sessions with my mentor were positive. They helped me get better at each stage of the internship. One of the best highlights of my internship was exploring the organization’s new office campus in Bengaluru. It boasts of world-class amenities, state of the art facilities certified for employee wellness and environmentally sound practices (LEED and WELLS). To sum up, the experience was very informative and an awful, awful lot of fun!
