What is the selection process for doing a Project at Right Management India?

My, in fact, our (me and my friend’s) journey of bagging a live project at Right Management India is not usual, one that you hear every now and then. We chose an unusual route that finally formalized into an opportunity and it is definitely worth sharing.

One of my friends had written a comprehensive article covering the guest lecture by Mr. Ashish Jain, Vice President, Right Management India. This article was published on our official college blog and it was sheer fortune that Mr. Jain read it. He was impressed by the writing style and he directly got in touch with my friend who wrote that article. He informed him about a live project opportunity and wanted him to undertake this project as a team. So, 3 of us formed a group and went to the office to discuss the whereabouts of the project. After a brief discussion, they were convinced that we were the right bunch of people to accomplish the task at hand. So, there we were, seeing our long-nurtured dream actualize.

The designation of the multi-faceted role allocated to me during the course of my project at Right Management India cannot be captured in one single term. Given the domain of my role, I could lay my hands on Market research, Business Analysis, Consulting, Digital Marketing, Social Media Channel Optimization, Business Vertical Diversification and B-Plan. My project was so diverse that it encompassed possibly every virtue of the corporate world. My work was very versatile as each new day demanded something different from me. This, in turn, ensured that I never succumbed to work pressure. I was absolutely enchanted by whatever I was doing. It was simply mesmerizing to see myself climbing the ladder of success, one rung at a time!

What did I learn during my live project?

When one enters the fascinating world of HR consulting, they literally spend days dreaming about what unique aspect they will get to explore. True to this spirit, my case was no different. I wanted to learn as much as I could within the limited time frame. Indeed, all my efforts bore fruit. Some of the core areas that I could work on were Consulting, Market research, Social Media and Business Analysis. Down the line, I also got an opportunity to contribute to the development of a new service vertical which was started only recently in the company.

But I believe that all this is completely futile in the absence of People Skills which serves as the backbone of one’s corporate journey. So, how could I accept the fact that I lacked in areas of Communication and Presentation? Therefore, I started supplementing these areas. The speed at which I progressed shell-shocked me. I sincerely express my heartfelt gratitude to Right Management India for being such a wonderful learning opportunity.

What did I learn from my mentor at Right Management India?

The feedback sessions with my mentor came packed with heavy insights and lifelong lessons. Interacting with him has definitely helped me in restructuring my approach towards Problem-Solving. Moreover, his constant encouragement filled me with enthusiasm to tread uncharted territories and become a pro at whatever I undertake.

On a concluding note, I wish to say that never underestimate your potential. Whatever little you do is definitely going to reap benefits in the future. Just as in my case a small piece of writing worked wonders, you never know what will be the harbinger of change in your case!
