How an internship at Topline Consulting helped me enhance my hard skills as well as soft skills | Karn’s story

Topline Consulting, founded just 9 years ago, has carved its niche in the domain of Marketing Communications and Public Relations. Getting a chance to do my summer internship at Topline Consulting thrilled me to the core. I knew that this internship would fetch me lifelong learnings and experiences. So, there was not even a slight chance that I would have let this opportunity slip from my hands.

What is the selection process for doing an internship at Topline Consulting?

The selection process for securing an internship at Topline Consulting was quite extensive and rigorous. In total, a candidate was required to cross 6 stages which comprised of:

Topline Consulting’s selection process was a tough nut to crack. More than preparation, one needs the perseverance to withstand each of the 6 rounds. A perfect blend of confidence and dedication helped me sail through the Topline Consulting’s selection process and bag an internship with this reputed organization.

What was my role during the course of my internship at Topline Consulting?

I was selected as a Brand and Marketing Strategy intern at Topline Consulting. As the name suggests, I had to develop Branding and Marketing Strategies for the company’s product portfolio. This multifaceted role allowed me to put my best foot forward and experiment with my work. The dynamism attached to my role always kept me motivated to work hard and reach efficient outcomes. Overall, my internship at Topline Consulting was an insightful experience that will cling to my memory forever.

What did I learn during the course of my internship?

The core learnings attached to my project were Product Development, Sales Pitching, CEO Branding, Marketing Strategy Formulation, developing Business Models for E-Learning app, Primary Market research, Questionnaire Design, Creating GTM strategies and Opportunity Mapping. Apart from the project-specific learnings, I also had a brilliant opportunity to work on my soft skills. I could explore the domain of Consumer Insights and Purchase Behavior Analysis. This played an instrumental role in familiarizing me with the core work ethics of this industry. After my internship at Topline Consulting, I feel confident enough to be a part of the corporate world.

What is the work culture at Topline Consulting?

As a part of my internship at Topline Consulting, I traveled to the captivating locations of Jakarta, Goa and Gurgaon. This was an exhilarating experience and I was mesmerized by the affection and support that I received from my seniors everywhere I went.

My memory of first outing takes me back to the beach visit after a successful experiential marketing stint for a client. Oh boy, just reliving that moment drowns me in the ocean of happiness and excitement! I clearly remember that I had worked for 3-days in a row for this project and it was a treat from my seniors for my commendable job. I was spellbound by the way they conducted themselves during the outing and made me feel at ease.

If working with Topline Consulting was a choice, I would be more than happy to accept this offer. The company has an excellent work culture. On top of that, the work environment is so competitive that it keeps you motivated to work harder and strive for excellence. Thus, working with this organization will contribute to my holistic growth.

What did I learn from my mentor during the course of my internship?

My mentor was my lifeline during the course of my internship at Topline Consulting. Under his continuous guidance, I was able to familiarise myself with the practical aspects of Branding, Price Modeling and GTM strategies. Moreover, I was fortunate enough to get a chance to attend the Annual GoaFest with him. During this event, I chanced upon various advertising strategies that proved instrumental in my project later. Overall, working under the supervision of my mentor was an enriching experience.

Getting appreciation from the Founder and Chairman of Topline Consulting for my work is one of those unforgettable incidents that will remain close to my heart forever. I have several other memorable experiences but pinning them down in one paragraph is neither possible nor fair. So, I would like to stop here!

To sum up, my internship at Topline Consulting made me the best version of myself. I embarked on a journey of discovering my true potential and self-improvement. I will forever be indebted to Topline Consulting for giving me an experience of a lifetime that groomed me both, personally and professionally.
