How my internship at Xpress Minds helped me explore and build Salesforce Management skills | Sandeep's story

Thus, I pounced at the opportunity of doing an internship at Xpress Minds Edutainment Pvt Ltd. without thinking twice.
What is the selection process for doing an internship at Xpress Minds Edutainment Pvt Ltd.?
The selection process of Xpress Minds Edutainment Pvt Ltd. was fairly simple yet difficult to crack. It consisted of three rounds of:
- CV Shortlisting
- Group Discussion
- Personal Interview
After being shortlisted, I had to face 7 of my peers in the Group Discussion round. It was quite a challenge to crack this round since I was paired against the best of the brains. The follow-up round was the Personal Interview which quizzed me about my previous work experiences and roles I had donned. My well-structured answers helped me ace this round and bag an internship at Xpress Minds Edutainment Pvt Ltd.
What was my role during my internship at Xpress Minds Edutainment Pvt Ltd.?
I was offered the position of Business Development Associate Intern at Xpress Minds Edutainment Pvt Ltd. Given the domain of my role, I had to lead a team of 19 fellow interns from various B-schools. This role was relatively new for me and required a hell lot of hard work to be executed with near perfection. Shouldering this responsibility, I had to be dead sure that I did all my work with full concentration and dedication. After all, managing a team of fellow interns, myself being one of them, was full of challenges that I had never encountered before.
What did I learn from during my internship?
My internship at Xpress Minds Edutainment Pvt Ltd. was a roller-coaster ride full of ups and downs and insightful learnings. Other than the project-specific learnings, MS Office and CRM Software, I also got a chance to brush up on my People Skills. Major areas that I could work on included my Communication Skills, Training Skills and Presentation Skills. All this played an instrumental role in grooming me, both on the personal and professional front. What else could I have asked for? Certainly, nothing else!
What is the work culture at Xpress Minds Edutainment Pvt Ltd.?
To attend my internship at Xpress Minds Edutainment Pvt Ltd., I had to move to the National Capital of Delhi. Initial days in the city were no less than a struggle as I had to arrange for accommodation on my own. Rising against all the odds, I finally managed to find a place in South Delhi within a week’s time. And there began my journey at Xpress Minds Edutainment Pvt Ltd. with full enthusiasm!
Right now, I feel that I am neither in a hurry nor in a position to decide my future course of action. I am unaware of all the exciting opportunities that the future holds for me and I would certainly love to experiment with all of them before arriving at a final conclusion. After all, a decision taken in haste is nothing but waste.
What did I learn from my mentor during the course of my internship?
“Be humble to your subordinates and show gratitude towards people whenever required. Sometimes your emotions are more powerful than your logic and rationale.” These words still resonate in mind whenever I think about my mentor at Xpress Minds Edutainment Pvt Ltd. His constant guidance, motivation and support made my internship at Xpress Minds Edutainment all-in-all a more enjoyable experience.
On a concluding note, I would like to share one of the memorable incidents that happened during my internship at Xpress Minds Edutainment Pvt Ltd. During my 3rd week of internship, I had a meeting scheduled with the CEO of the company to check my work progress. Despite giving it my best shot, deep down, I was a bit nervous because one can never be sure of what a top-level executive is looking for.
Sweating, I somehow entered the room, but what followed next took me by complete surprise. He said, “Sandeep, we hired a total of 118 interns and went through the CV of each one of them. Among all of them, we found 3 CV’s to be quite interesting. You will be glad to know that one of those CV was yours. So, now tell me something more about you.” The wall of hesitation was broken. I was there for 30-minutes, conversing at ease, sharing my stories and gaining his knowledge!
