The name Titan, today evokes superior craftsmanship, innovative technology and trustworthy product quality. They have been creating elevating experiences for people and have significantly impacted the world. Titan has always been a dream company for me. They lay stress on constantly delivering the best to their customers. Products of top-notch quality, ethics and balance are so tempting that you just can’t turn away the opportunity to do an internship at Titan Company Limited - Jewellery Division. It was going to be an epic journey.

What is the selection process for an internship at Titan?

The selection process for the Internship at Titan had the following components:

  1. Shortlisting on the basis of CV

  2. Psychometric Test

  3. Group Discussion

  4. HR Interview

The first step was shortlisting on the basis of CV. There were two profiles on offer - Marketing and Operations. The next step was a psychometric test that tested our decision-making skills and the ability to make rational decisions under pressure. Then came the Group Discussion stage which was very informative. It gave equal opportunities to every member to come up with ideas. There were multiple topics to discuss in each round. The topics ranged from HR decision-making to marketing strategies to revenue balancing topics. This was the best experience of Group Discussion I ever had. The final step was the HR interview which was more of a test to check our attitude rather than our knowledge. All in all, it was a great experience and a challenging process to test our mettle.

What did I learn from my internship?

My internship at Titan in the Jewellery Division was for an Operations Oriented Role with the Vendor Management Team. My work involved devising a dynamic capacity model and also to identify constraints for selected vendors. I actually worked on my Data Analysis Skills, understanding how to derive key analysis from even the most inconsequential data. My other areas of developed were people management and presentation skills.

The lessons I learned here have been of the utmost value and have helped me become a better person. I thus would like to share a few of them.

There are always going to be different ways of solving a problem, never give up! What you think may be possible the solution, might not always work, but what you aren't thinking at all might be the key. The challenge is to not get disheartened, to not give up and to never take things for granted. Knowledge is never wasted and the efforts are always rewarded with results at the end. It might take a bit longer than it seems sometimes, though!

What was the work culture at Titan?

The leaders at Titan Jewellery Division gave me key insights as to how work should be done efficiently. My managers trusted me to visit the vendors alone after I managed to impress them with my work. This made me pay a visit to a number of places and I thus met new people. The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) appreciated me for my analysis during our review session. This gave a huge boost to my confidence!

For my internship at Titan Company Limited - Jewellery Division I had to move to Hosur in Tamil Nadu. I also had to travel to a number of destinations during the tenure of my internship. It was difficult, challenging and under unfamiliar circumstances. But I adjusted in accordance with the saying: “When life gives you lemons, focus on making the best juice out of it instead of complaining about not getting anything else”. I hope that they consider me for a full-time role. Working at Titan Company Limited would make my dream come true.
